Only giving 1 star because I can’t give 0. Starting off we got there, waited 45 minutes in line just to go out and attempt to enter the parking garage. The keys didn’t work so we had to go in and get all new keys ( Keep in mind it’s freezing with my 7 month old child ) Once we finally got into our room the paper towels and toilet paper were more then half way used with barely anything on them, the towels that we were left in the kitchen rang out brown, there were pretzels on the floor and a child’s toy and a cheese it box under the foot stool. ( I have photo proof! ) There was hair and brown stain left in the bed sheets. The room service was a total disaster and we didn’t even end up getting it. Also, there are no signs to assist with entering out and in if the parking garage so we were walking around in cold weather with a baby attempting to get into the hotel. Milk in the fridge in the lobby all expired on February 7. When I called the hotel after our stay and brought up the idea of a refund I was immediately dismissed and hung up on.

If i could leave 0 stars i would. To begin the wait was ridiulous and they had excuse of wrestling then maybe space out ur check ins not have them all at once. Then had to go back in and get key cards again because the first werent activated. Paper towels and toilet paper were almost empty stated they are trying to help the environment. The towels rang put brown that were provided in the kitchen. There were pretzels on the floor and a cheeze its box under the leg rest. Pubic hair in the bed along with a stain. Its a maze from the parking garage into the building. Expired milk in the coolers. The “room services” isnt part of the hotel and is a complete scam and u have to get it from the lobby but yet they call it room service. We Were given $20 in credit for a $300 room. Points useless we will never return.

It is very unlikely for me to give negative reviews, I much prefer to give 5 stars. My check in took about 20min, but there was learning going on, so that makes no impact on my rating. The room was dated, but clean. Clean outweighs style. The kitchen had one coffee cup and three dirty water glasses. All I wanted was a drink of water. I used my hands as a cup. There were no plastic cups or disposable coffee cups. In the event your spouse and you both want a cup of coffee, you'll have to invest in metallic straws and share. Here's where I get VERY critical. The parking ramp. No where in the ramp does it point you to the hotel lobby. Oh there are some doors, and you can scan your room key, but they dont open. Not one sign pointing you into the direction of the lobby! I walked from the top of the ramp, down to the street, only to take the elevator back to 4th floor. How would an elderly person or anyone with any physical limitations pull that off? Thank goodness I have no physical issues that prevented me from making that hike, but it was a hell of a way to end my night. Attention to detail is important and this hotel misses that mark. A $100 bill spent on some simple signage would have prevented this negative review. I'm still giving 3 stars because I hope management reads this review and spends that $100.

We've been staying here since our son moved to Des Moines after college 6 years ago. We LOVE the location downtow. It's very walkable. Walnut Creek Church is across the street, so we visit every time we're in town. The suites, service, and all the amenities are wonderful.
