Rooms are nice but the heat/ AC doesn't go to the living space area so kind of a bad design.
The pool was ok. The hot tub was cold. My son got a rash from the pool.
The staff were incredibly courteous and helpful. The breakfast was pretty good and the waitress was super sweet and gave the kids little treats. She almost made great hot chocolate according to my son and made it the perfect temperature for a child.

We had to cancel our recent planned trip due to weather (Dec 2025. Brian and Leanne really helped with the cancelation and providing the confirmation needed for the 3rd party site to refund our bookings.

The only thing I am missing here is access to Netflix. Bar and restaurant are open daily. Restaurant until 9pm and bar until 10pm. The service is great. One to two bartenders nightly. Breakfast in the morning is buffet style. Eggs, sausage, bacon along with fruit and oatmeal. Clean, well kept hotel. The pool was out of service however, we were able to use pool at hotel across from us if needed. I would consider another stay if back in the area.

Long drive from St. Paul via Des Moines, tired from the highway. Greeted by a delightful lady behind the check-in desk, easy process to get to our room. Clean bathrooms, / linens, no problem getting an extra bath towel.
Having The J-Bar onsite was great for weary travelers, just walk down, get some good food and walk back to your room. (Bar was popular, it filled up while we were there.) Observed a nice sunset from the 5th floor hallway.
Morning dawned and we got a yummy breakfast, ready for the trip home.
Only quibble was the room / hotel itself...furniture and carpet need replacing, room a new coat of paint, hence the 4 stars.
I recommend this hotel.
