Easy choice for my first time booking solo as it's in close enough range to have a support fallback from close family (which I didn't even need, as was my goal) and particularly so given a Comic Con setup that was arranged at the attached event center on the same weekend which is a personal interest of mine (and central to the intended long-term purpose). The decision was well worth it - exceptional service, clean room and quality breakfast selections, albeit at an extra charge for the latter so keep this in mind, or do what I did and do an advance request to pay at check-in. On which note, the person who checked me in forgot to check this to give me my advance payment cards so I almost paid double (but as soon as I figured out what happened, it was very easily sorted out). Food is about on the side of Applebee's or Red Robin in terms of expectations (although the DQ next door offers a decent counterbalance to this) - first night, I ordered a Caesar salad (which was slightly different than my usual expectations regarding croutons but still good) while on the second I went with the old standard of a burger and fries which defaulted to well done as I could tell from the amount of time from my order just as much as the beef itself (but was ultimately worth the wait). And for context purposes, I did compare the lobby grab/go with the nearby Casey's minimart and was surprised in terms of hotel standards as to having them both be competitively priced even for a bottle of Coca-Cola (and likewise off of the fountain when I hit the bar). Overall it was a pleasant experience (and very comfortable with the bedding) and the event center well laid out respective to the con's maximizing of the available space, and I would certainly do it again next year. (And yes, the idea for the trial run was a success in terms of handling myself.)

Nice suite! Room was big, clean & quiet. Breakfast was good ($12), but should've been complimentary considering the $235 cost for one night. Check-in was slow, and hotel info was limited. We were supposed to get a discount rate for the event we attended, but two front desk clerks could not provide an answer, nor did they made an effort to contact the manager to inquire for us. Do better.

Reconsider! Have fun being treated like a child! We arrived late and ordered food for our kids from door dash. Everyone who ate the hotel food as other guests describe say it’s horrible. The hotel didn’t tell us about all their rules when we checked in or we would have gladly taken our stay elsewhere. The bartender and GM tried to threaten me to be kicked out for eating our food in the spacious lobby. When I asked to speak to the GM, he was too afraid to speak to me like an adult about the situation. Management of this particular hotel needs to do some simple customer service training, what is an otherwise clean and nice hotel is ruined by stupid rules they don’t tell you about during booking. We had to relocate a dinner (we were going to order pizza for all the families kids) because of this insanity. I travel a lot for work and I’ve never been told I cannot eat outside food or drink in a hotel I’m paying to stay in. You also need to secure a ticket for the included breakfast when you buy it; so if you’re in a hurry in the morning get those ahead of time. Run more like a prison than a hotel. EDIT: in response to the GMs review, I just confirmed our group leader was not told this as I described. I was also not told upon check in. Nicks staff (2 different folks) also stated that this is a “constant” problem for them and they hate trying to enforce it. Maybe they should listen to their guests? Also I nicely offered to relocate to an area of the lobby which is very clearly not a resturant or bar and was told no. Let’s call this what it is, Nicks misguided policy to try to raise revenue and lower customer service.

As a Diamond Elite member, I’ve stayed at this hotel several times, it is very clean, new and beautiful for events. Stays very busy, noisy hotel/lobby until well after 11, you won’t get much sleep on the first floor. Big event center so expect events full of people, lobby to be congested in the evening. Location is more in the industrial area than in town, roads are rough and trucks going through can slow you down. Google Maps has it across the street and it’s been reported several times. Rooms are pretty standard, doors are heavy, mini fridge doesn’t get very cold and parking can be difficult at times. Questionable charges on menu items, literally ordered the same drink and changed more the next day? Burgers are gross, taste like cheap hockey puck frozen patties and don’t recommend. In addition, my name is not Danielle… from your previous reply. Another stay and I was late for work because your housekeeper can’t read what product is lotion and which is soap!
