I brought a team here here from Texas. Everything they need is here.
As the driver, everything is here and a convenience store is in walking distance a dollar store is within walking distance.

I stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn in Ames for four nights, and overall, it was a very pleasant experience. The hotel feels modern and well-maintained, and my check-in was smooth.
I made good use of the gym, which has new, high-quality equipment. The pool is right next to the gym, and there’s also a spa—perfect for relaxing after a workout.
Their breakfast spread was great, with eggs, sausages, and home fries, and the lobby restaurant and bar were very nice. I had dinner there once—the chicken with grains was tasty, and the service was quick and friendly. The lobby area is spacious, and the bar had a nice social atmosphere with a few guests hanging out. There’s also complimentary coffee available throughout the day, which was a nice touch.
Parking is convenient, with spots all around the property. One small note: if you use a contactless key, it may only open your room door—not other doors like the gym, pool, or side entrances. You might need a physical key card for those.
Overall, it’s a comfortable, clean, and well-run hotel—a great place to stay when you’re in Ames. Highly recommended!

UPDATE: SLEPT IN MY CAR. MOLD IN ROOM MADE ME SICK! Another hotel with FAKE REVIEWS! Don't fall for them. DIRTY bathrooms with mold. Poorly lit rooms.. probably so you can't see the patched up walls. Dimmer still was my check in experience. AWFUL breakfast with little to choose from.(Paid $11 for three bowels of raisin bran.. only thing edible) The good..the ONLY good..was the hard working young bartender in the evening that single handedly served food and tended bar. Bravo to him!
