  I stayed for one night when I came to town for my son's band concert. I chose this hotel because of the price point and decent reviews and was so please with the spacious rooms and will definitely make this my new go to hotel when I come to Ames Iowa. Staff was friendly and the breakfast was decent.

  Wow my stay here was great. Has a pool and I felt like I got a real good deal. The staff was very friendly. This place definitely checked all my boxes.

  Checked in late due to travel...had a 1 bedroom with kitchen with kids. Pull out couch completely broken, dirty crumbs and paper fell from it when trying to pull it out. Could not even put the couch back together. Also dirty dishes in dishwasher, was accommodated a different room at 1am... Room 2, no shower curtain, no shower gel, 2 bugs in the room and freezer not freezing. Told a different person at desk about room 2 issues and said, "ok, will let my manager know." Made no attempt to make the stay right. Breakfast is pretty good with a couple hot options and ste staple items.

  One word - dirty. Lobby area looks nice and is clean. Hotel pictures show a pool and hot tub. There is no hot tub. It is tiled over. Reserved a 1 bedroom suite. Bathroom had hair on the floor, dried toothpaste splatters on the mirror, and 2 tiny bath towels. Shower had the big bottles of shampoo, conditioner, and body wash mounted to the wall. The conditioner in the shower was empty. Bathroom wall vent had thick dirt and dust on it. Couch and armchair in living room both had multiple stains. The pull out couch bed was a thin mattress that you could feel all the springs through - no padding. No bedding available in the room for the couch bed. I called the front desk and was told to come down and grab some. The sheets I was given had multiple small holes in them. Walls in living room with large dirty marks and large area of chipping paint. Bedroom had an iron holder on the wall, but no iron or ironing board. Bedroom walls marked up and dirty. Bedroom mirror also had dried splatters on it. The only good things were the location near stores and restaurants, and the price. I travel a lot and I’m not picky. But I’m convinced this room was “tidied” up and not actually cleaned. Called front desk Friday around 3:45pm, about 10 mins after checking in to request housekeeping and was told no one was working except the guy at the front desk so there would be no housekeeping available. I would never stay here again.

The staff at the front desk were supportive and efficient, and the check-in process was quick and smooth, which I really appreciated after a long day of travel. The hotel provides a free breakfast for all guests, though the options are somewhat limited. The rooms are spacious and clean, making the stay pleasant. A nice plus is the kitchenette in the room, which comes with utensils and is useful for longer stays. The only issue I noticed was that the room heater was not working as expected. This may have been due to the extreme cold weather during my stay, but the heating was not effective enough to warm the room properly. Overall, it’s still a good option if you’re looking for a clean and comfortable hotel with friendly service in Ames.
