  My experience at the Waikiki Resort Hotel was very frustrating from start to finish. Right at check-in, I ran into an unnecessary issue: the hotel does not accept Apple Pay, claiming it’s due to “fraud risk,” which honestly makes no sense nowadays. My physical card was in another suitcase that I had left at a previous hotel. Since my stay was already prepaid, the only thing left was the incidental fee. I asked them to hold the suitcase I had with me while I went to retrieve the other one, but they initially refused because I hadn’t checked in yet. At the same time, they wouldn’t allow me to check in specifically because they wouldn’t accept the incidental payment via Apple Pay. So I was stuck in a completely avoidable deadlock caused by rigid and inflexible policies. After insisting for a while, they finally agreed to hold my bag, but I still had to go back to the other hotel, get my suitcase, open it, and search for my physical card. Completely unnecessary stress. And that was just part of the problem. I had stayed there 5 days earlier, and that experience was already disappointing: I booked a room with a king bed but was given one with two small beds. When I questioned it, I was told that even if you reserve a king bed, they only provide it if one is available — which basically makes the reservation meaningless. On top of that, the bathroom is extremely small (the shower area is about 1m²), and the facilities feel outdated. Overall, this is a hotel with outdated, bureaucratic processes and very little flexibility, creating friction from the very first interaction. For the price, it’s absolutely worth paying a bit more to stay somewhere more modern, with better service and accommodations.

  The hotel's location is one block from the beach. You can walk to the beach everyday and watch the beautiful sunset. The bed is comfortable, the temperature is controllable, the room is clean and functional.

  The pictures are a lie. Don’t fall for it like I did. I’ve never seen a half bathtub in my entire life, but you guessed it, the tubs are made for a three year old. So disappointed in this old and dated hotel. Pool is under construction, so no pool the entire stay. And the check in process is so long. I had the displeasure of crossing paths with Branden at registration. A unpleasant person who clearly hates his job. He is slow, unfriendly and a poor example of the usual Hawaii hospitality. I will never stay at this hotel again, ever.

  Stayed a week here for a vacation from Mar 2-9th....Great location, friendly staff, clean rooms!!! Pool & Gym and there's a game room in lobby next to elevator. A gift shop downstairs and restaurant and bar 🍺. I've seen people complain about this place being old. I say it has character. Yes it's an older hotel but you can't beat the location!!! Near plenty of shops, food trucks and less than a 2 minute walk to the beach around the corner.....I would definitely stay here again!!! The staff is very friendly from the front desk to the housekeeping team!

  Hotel is ok. Room size is small. Hotel looks old on the inside. Shower tub is small. Cannot adjust shower head. Shower head shoots to the end of the tub. Was showering and water just went out. Water came back on 15 mins later. Power also went out. Came back on 30mins later. The service is great though. They came and clean the room. Gave new towels, take trash, and make the beds. All their staff was friendly and welcoming. The hotel across with the roof pool has a party every night. 12am and still blasting music. This hotel is in a good location. A block away from the mall, Restaurants, and beach. Parking space is limited. They have a small garage. Have to pay parking fee. Have to pay a resort fee $400 when you check in. Why? Why didn't you just disclose the resort fee too when I book the hotel online and tell me the final price. Feel like I got scam with the resort fee. Wow, great deal online. When I get there. Hey their is a $400 fee. What the heck man? I can't back out now. Im already here. Why didn't you tell me the $400 resort fee online. Overall, an okay hotel.
