We had the most amazing stay at Four Seasons Lanai. Everything from start to finish was just flawless. The property itself is beautiful, peaceful, and feels like a true escape, but what really made it special was the staff. Every single person we interacted with was so kind, attentive, and genuinely welcoming.
A special thank you to Daria, who was absolutely amazing and made our experience even more memorable.
The entire management team clearly sets the tone, because the level of service is on another level. You can tell they truly care about the guest experience and go above and beyond without making it feel forced.
They truly live up to the Four Seasons reputation. I would recommend this place to anyone without hesitation and would come back in a heartbeat.

Absolutely a perfect place. The service was incredible and everyone was so friendly and helpful. The food was wonderful. The rooms were very very comfortable. I don’t have a negative here. Our stay was spectacular. Did not want to leave.

Truly one of the best Four Seasons Resorts I’ve stayed at. The grounds are absolutely stunning and the stuff was incredible.
You really get what you pay for when you stay at the Four Seasons, Lana’i. Will definitely be back.

We had an absolutely wonderful time in Lana'i with a few suggestions to earn a perfect rating (General Manager pay attention). The primary reason it was so wonderful is the staff embraces ohana (or making you feel as family). Tuma, Jaughn (community team), Erick (bellman), Randall (bellman), Uncle Bruno (the legend - ask about his swim to Lana'i from Maui and tiger shark attack), and Jay (pool) were awesome. For example, the strap on my snorkel mask broke, Randall drove me to the dock to check the general store where they store scuba equipment and Erick offered to have a mask brought to me from in town. In the end, we used safety pins Randall obtained and it worked great. Tuma and Jaughn are amazing. So much island knowledge and skills making Hawaiian arts. We made bracelets with Tuma and hair pieces with Jaughn for my daughters. When I didn't want my wine chilled, they opened a new bottle at the breakfast / day cafe. Lanai Ocean Experiences was fantastic. The food was excellent and the service was outstanding. Tim, Jomar and the other mate (sorry didn't catch his name) ensured the family had a wonderful time snorkeling (a highlight of the trip). We encountered a pack of dolphins and Captain Tim allowed the dolphins to play bow for like 15 minutes. The dolphins couldn't get enough of it (they love chasing boats). Jay went out of his way to get us a cabana when the reservation system didn't work properly. He made sure our stay of the pool and beach were great. The staff at the beach was awesome too. Always trying to get to know you and remember your preferences. The bar tenders at Nobu were so welcoming and friendly and getting anything you needed and wanting to get to know you. The hotel and grounds are wonderful and the ocean is great especially where the dolphins come in. So many activities to do, we couldn't finish all of them in six days.
Here is a few suggestions for the General Manager to truly be world class. There is not good communication in software between the concierge and community relations and pool. This is a software issue not a people issue. We reserved an observation tour with the telescope by the concierge 1-month in advance. I followed up by phone before we arrived as I didn't hear anything. When we arrived, no record of our reservation (twice). That said Erick the bellman and the concierge still worked to try to get us in. No luck. However, others who arrived after us got in. Secondly, we reserved a cabana with concierge and we left feeling like it was a sure thing. I went to pool next morning and Jay was like we have no record of this. He stated the cabanas had been fully booked for a month. Again this is a software thing. Both of these issues could have been resolved with better software tools that talked between departments. It's crazy to think such a luxury resort does not have software where concierges can see availability and book directly. Instead, its "I'll send a request and hopefully someone gets back to you." That isn't 5 star. It's a software issue management needs to fix and fix quickly. I literally could have this resolved in two weeks as a software engineer. Until then, designate a champion in concierge that champions this and follows the reservation all the way through until its secured (no sending a request and hope its filled). Also I am not sure if this is possible today but when my wife and I visited before the renovation, from the time we sat in our chair at the pool to the time we got service was 15 seconds flat. I timed it daily. It was legendary. If you can return to this level or simply place call buttons at each chair, this will allow people to call a server when they want to place a food order. The Four Seasons in Grand Cayman does this.
Also, the food at the Italian Restaurant (Osteria Mozza Lanai) is average at best and way over priced. From one italian to another you can do better at this cost point. General Manager, go taste the food and ask yourself is this truly good or there are improvements to be made? Invite some Italians with you and get their feedback.
Four Seasons Resort Lana‘i is one of the most special places we have ever stayed. The property is stunning, the service is exceptional, and what really sets it apart is the feeling of genuine warmth and aloha throughout the entire experience.
We were delayed on both ends of our trip by a Kona low storm, which was stressful, but the hotel worked incredibly hard to make the experience feel as smooth and cared for as possible. That level of hospitality became a theme of the entire stay.
So many staff members remembered us from a visit two years ago, which honestly says everything. Because Lana‘i is such a small island, many people have worked at the hotel for decades and everyone seems to know each other. There is a real sense of community that you can feel as a guest, and it makes the experience feel personal in a way that is incredibly rare. Evan, the manager, was also so wonderful and gracious, and truly added to that feeling of being cared for.
Pam at the Kids Club was incredible with our children, Samson shared the beauty and culture of the island so thoughtfully, and Uncle Bruno and the birds were unforgettable. The ocean-view breakfasts were a highlight, and Nobu was absolutely delicious for both food and drinks.
One of the things that makes this property so magical is how much beauty surrounds you at every turn, from the family of dolphins seen in the bay daily (unfortunately absent this trip due to the storms) to the resort’s impressive art and design. We loved seeing the striking new Damien Hirst sculpture, and a visit to the stunning sister hotel Sensei is also well worth it.
It is also such a perfect place for intergenerational travel, which can be hard to find. There is plenty to entertain children, but it does not feel overrun by families in a way that would make it less enjoyable for grandparents or adults traveling without kids. It strikes that balance beautifully.
Beyond the resort itself, Lana‘i has so many amazing things to do: dinner at Lanai City Grill, snorkeling, whale watching, the adventure park, Garden of the Gods, the cat sanctuary, and the cutest modern-retro bowling alley imaginable.
For a family that usually prefers trying new places over returning to the same destination twice, the fact that we cannot wait to come back says everything.
