- NNNickDec 17, 20253.0Overall was an okay experience for our honeymoon. Location was great. The staff was very nice. And they had great amenities/grounds. A couple things I did not like the floors seemed to be very thin even though they're made out of concrete. So you heard a lot of the people up above you whether they're moving chairs or even walking around with shoes, so if you want to sleep till 8:00 or 9:00 a.m. that might be an issue if you have an early riser above you. Also, this did not have a shower door so the shower water was getting on the floor baseboards and drywall which causes mold which there was some there and will continue to cause mold which is a health issue. Also they have a broiler system there which water can be hot and cold... The first six out of eight showers were barely warm if not like warm. The second half got a little bit better as a repairman did come out and adjust the cartridge/valve, but I think they just need to turn up the hot water boiler system up by 5 or 10° to help adjust for some usage demands, and I'm a contractor. Room 918.

Each unit is owned so be sure to use sites like AirBnB and VRBO to find the exact unit number that has the view and the furnishings you want. Some are not updated. We found a studio unit 961 that was updated, high floor with great view. Booked directly through The Whaler property for a better deal than AirBnB. FYI the studio units are so much better than a hotel room - more space, full kitchen, etc. And the bed in unit 961 is the most comfortable bed we have slept on…including ours at home.
