Pure luxury with a twist of Disney :-) As DVC members, Aulani is sort of an aspirational stay, so when we had the chance to stopover in Hawaii for a couple nights after an Asia trip, we jumped on it. And boy am I GLAD WE DID! As a family who loves the parks and resort hopping in Orlando, we weren’t sure what to expect here, but we were already talking about a return trip before even leaving! The beauty speaks for itself, as does the luxury and Disney customer service, but everything was just so enjoyable from the pools to adults only areas to lazy river, character greetings, shave ice, dole whip, store, and cute little shopping/dining area across the street. We had a magical time!
Truly a family vacation to remember! There’s no place like Disney, really, besides the price (there is plenty of ways to save) it’s worth it! We were impressed by how amazing the Disney staff was from the moment we checked in to the moment we checked out— superb! They even upgraded our room since we were here as a family vacation and celebrating a birthday. They made us feel super special! There’s too much to type here about how amazing the whole stay was, but I’ll keep
it short. The rooms were super clean, and the view was overlooking the garden facing the ocean. Waking up to this view, I miss it just thinking about it! The kids loved the lazy river; we spent so much time in the water, lagoon, and beach! There’s plenty of space to enjoy yourself and your family; the towel stations were super convenient! Make sure you get refillable cups for drinks; you’ll save tons of money on drinks and coffee, trust me! They have pizzas that the kids loved, and it was enough for a quick bite to keep the kids going and save money. Make sure you have reservations and book in advance if you are planning to eat inside the resort’s restaurant. I cannot stress this enough: the Disney breakfast is a must! Having the Disney characters waking up to take pictures was fun; they will rotate, and you’ll know because you’ll see a line. Another lifesaver was the app that has the daily activities and events. Other than that, enjoy, have fun, and get yourself a poke bowl! I cannot thank the staff enough for such a remarkable vacation. There’s plenty of adult entertainment at night, close by restaurants within walking distance too.

One of the best things about this resort is the Luau. We have been to others including on Maui and what I can say is even though there was a lot of time where there was no performing just dining it was quality over quantity. The performance and service was a 10/10!
Unfortunately, the bell desk was a 1/10. We had poor experiences both on arrival and departure. When we arrived they told us the bags would be up in 10 minutes and that we had to be in the room to retrieve them (which we found out later was bc they want $5 per bag) but they never showed even after multiple calls. My husband was in the room over 45 minutes by the time he finally left to join us beachside and still hadn't gotten our bags. Thankfully, when we got back to the room several hours later the bags were there. But sadly, this wasn’t isolated. Even upon checkout as the only car in the valet line and no one at the bell desk line, our bags didn't get to our vehicle for over 25 minutes which made us late for our rental car drop off. We had to follow up multiple times and they even asked us to move out vehicle while waiting for their team.
As much as we loved this for our kiddos for future stays we will likely stay at the four seasons and book events for the kids as needed.

Beautiful resort with stunning grounds. The pools and lazy river are fantastic, and the beach is great. We especially loved the morning Beach Bootcamp HIIT class — a really nice touch and a great way to start the day.
That said, the pool chair situation is frustrating. There simply aren’t enough loungers. If you’re not at the pool by around 7:30am to “reserve” one, you’re out of luck. By 8am, they’re all gone, which takes away from the relaxing resort experience.
Entertainment throughout the day and evening is quite limited. Compared to many Caribbean resorts, there’s much less going on, which was a bit disappointing given the price point.
A tip for future guests: buy breakfast items and snacks at Walmart or Target before arriving. Food on the resort and even at the ABC store across the street is very expensive.
Overall, Aulani is a beautiful resort, but it’s pricey and doesn’t offer great value for the money. That said… it is Hawaii, and pretty much everything here is expensive!
