The Location: We chose this resort for its convenient location. Proximity: It feels closer to the airport than deep Waikiki, and the surrounding village offers a safe walking area with plenty of food options nearby. Atmosphere: It is a massive "Village" concept—very popular for families, but works for couples too if you want everything in one place. The Diamond Experience (Room & Upgrade): As a Diamond Member, I inquired about a suite upgrade but declined the paid offer ($249+). The Upgrade: I received a complimentary upgrade to an Ocean View (Rainbow Tower, Lagoon View) on the 27th floor. The Room: The room was fully renovated and the views were stunning. The 5 elevators were fast, handling the crowds well. Design Flaw: However, the bathroom had a strange layout issue. The body lotion was hidden behind the mirror, making it not easy to reach or even find at first. Amenities & Service (The Downsides): For a high-end resort, the amenities felt lacking. Missing Basics: There were no slippers or bathrobes provided. Housekeeping even mentioned that sometimes they don't even have toothbrushes. The Water Bottle Hassle: To get your complimentary bottled water, you have to physically visit the concierge and show your Diamond membership rather than having it in the room. Parking: Be prepared for Self-parking at $68/night. Verdict: The renovated Rainbow Tower rooms are nice, but the weird design choices, high parking fees, and the hassle to get basic amenities take away from the luxury experience.

Let’s be real. HHV is expensive, expansive, and exciting. The question is if the stay is worth the price. We have stayed three times over the past three years in three different towers so I feel confident that our experience can help you as you navigate where to stay on Waikiki. Tapa Tower is located in the interior of the resort and is a vibrant location right near the Tapa bar. Diamond Tower is near the business section and is the one tower we would NEVER STAY in again. The room was loud and dated and. the ac didn’t work. Thank goodness for RYAN BUTLER at the front desk for getting us out of there and into our favorite place: Rainbow Tower. RT is in the middle of a remodel and the renovated rooms are nicely done. Great shower, bed, furnishings, lanai, etc. The downside is the elevators are abysmally slow and when you are 20 floors up, the stairs are a poor option. Tips: go to The Tropics restaurant ONLY during happy hour - it is one of the most expensive places to eat in all of Waikiki. Hau Tree bar can be festive and fun. The nearby Chart House also has a great happy hour and the Alo Moana mall has a large food court. Try to stay on a Friday night so you can see the weekly fireworks.

We stayed 12/24/25 to 12/30/25 Overall 2/5. May be best during mid seasons Pros great location. Nice size rooms with beautiful views Commerce inside the property. The beach is less crowded than main strip in Waikiki. Sit down restaurants are good but pricey. The ocean is calm and great for kids and swimming. Cleaning staff was amazing and did a great job. The sunsets are amazing. Cons: total caos during the Holidays. 15 to 30+min wait for elevators. 70 dollars daily to self park on the 3rd levels of a parking lot. 100+dollars + for 2 chairs and an umbrella at the beach with horrible/poor servive. The chair boys just throw the chairs and walk away. There isn't even time to tip them. (I guess it is their loss). Sit down estaurants are overpriced for what they are and staff not as fruendly at the tropical. The pools are ridiculously busy and I the water looked cloudy and dirty.(I would not consider going in. ) Luggage storage far away from fron desk with long wait time. The Friday fireworks are crazy busy and difficult to enjoy

I booked two rooms at the Hilton Hawaiian Village with the expectation that, as a Diamond member, my stay would reflect that status. I specifically paid extra for an ocean view room, and the total cost for the stay was approximately $6,000. Upon arrival, I was told there were no upgrades available. I reluctantly accepted the assigned room, which was advertised as an ocean view but was, at best, a side view—certainly not the direct ocean view I had expected and paid for. As a Diamond member, basic amenities were also handled poorly. To receive the complimentary bottled water that is supposed to be provided, I had to go down to the concierge every single day, often waiting while other guests were assisted, just to pick up two bottles of water per day. Aside from that and the standard $18 daily food and beverage credit, there were essentially no meaningful in-room Diamond benefits. While the hotel itself is clean, the rooms are maintained, and the staff is generally cordial, those basics do not make up for the complete lack of recognition or accommodation for loyal, high-tier Hilton guests. Given the amount of money spent and the volume of business I have given Hilton over the years, this experience was deeply disappointing. If I return to Hawaii, I would not stay at the Hilton Hawaiian Village again, as they were unable—or unwilling—to properly accommodate a Diamond member.

This is a very nice hotel. Our rooms in the Rainbow Tower (lagoon view) were recently renovated and were beautifully decorated and super clean. Larger than most hotel rooms, plenty of space. Lots of places to eat nearby and ABC store on site. I’m not sure if we would stay here again, not because it is bad but it is really expensive. We knew this going into it and wanted to stay at a place on the beach for 4 days of our 8 day vacation. Spent the first 4 days at a hotel off the beach that was more economical, fewer amenities and far fewer people. It is worth staying here (or somewhere on the beach) at least once to see if you like it. The huge plus is just walking out to the beach. The pools are freezing. The restaurants onsite are crazy expensive ($120 for family of 4 for breakfast). It is a very busy place. Rooms were quiet but the resort areas are always busy. Hot tubs are full of little kids. Live music available at restaurants and Hawaii 5-0 was filmed here. I still can’t decide if it was worth the cost.
