Pros
Big room, I got an upgrade
Resort big enough to explore
Cons
Terrible customer service, it’s either the staff detest working there or they hate tourist.
Room service is zero. I fell ill as soon as I arrived (about 24hrs flight), couldn’t walk around, called food service multiple times, chatted on Hilton app, there was nothing I didn’t do to try to get help. Spoke to front desk, begged, told them my Hilton honors level, nothing worked. I had to drag myself out of the room 5hrs later.
Concierge
Terrible, I was struggling with my bags, let’s forget being a guest, a lady dragging bags and almost tripping should move any individual, the guy in the picture didn’t bulge. Never offered to help, stood there and stared at me as I struggled with my bags.
I asked a staff why the service was so horrible, they claimed it’s the biggest Hilton in the United States and serves so may people. Hence, the indifference and clear lack of recourse.
Overall experience was terrible and only deserves a star. Never lodging here again, not even for free.

Lifetime Diamond member review.
Will not be staying here again.
This, unfortunately, is my 4th time staying here. It will be my last.
My daughter accompanied me to this location. She flew in on a different flight. My flight was delayed. I had her as a registered guest. I called ahead when my delay happened, just to ensure she could check in. I was told the only way she could check in without me or without having to swipe a card was if I checked in digitally. I did just that, but when she arrived, she was still required to swipe. Not at all what I was told, as I would not have bothered checking in digitally. I confronted the staff, as this is a lack of training one way or the other. They did not care.
Next, no HDMI access to the TV. While from a business perspective in requiring a movie purchase, they don't even have movie options to rent. So, for some reason they have HDMI locked out on TVs even though you cannot rent.akes no sense to lock them down.
Next, bathroom was filthy. The door to the toilet room looks like someone swung a dirty mop against it.
Next, the first two floors of the parking garage are for valet, while you are bound to park on level 3 and up. Why wouldn't you put valet up top, and lessen the walk for self parking.
My wife and I renewed our vows at this resort 20 years ago. I remember a vastly different place, especially with service.
Staff needs remedial training at a very minimum.
I come to the island at least 4* a year. This is my last time here for sure. I will be giving the Moanna my biz from now on.

We stayed here 7-8 years ago and loved it. We loved the breakfast buffet, the location to Waikiki was amazing - right by the hustle and bustle, but it felt like a breath of fresh air.
This trip was comical in how horrid it was. The rooms were totally fine. The pools were ridiculously overcrowded and felt gross. The one hot tub on the property was constantly bombarded with people. The kids pool had more adults with no children (I did creepily watch to see if they were with kids or not). In the age of Epstein, I’d appreciate a kids (and caregiver) only pool, especially considering they have an adults only pool. A simple wrist band at check-in for kids and caregivers would suffice.
We had drunken adults physically fighting in the kids pool (also had no children) - the management was lackluster in resolving the issue. Instead of removing both groups of fighters, he lectured at one group (and the entire hot tub of people not involved) and then shut down the hot tub. My 7 year old did not understand what was happening and is convinced the hotel hates him.
The room next to us had parties at night and had over 15 people in their room. It spilled out to the hallway for wrestling around 1am one night. Management did nothing.
Food is all pre-packaged and processed. It very much felt like airport food everywhere. Few, if any, fresh Hawaiian food options were presented ($40 loco moco is laughable). Everything is expensive, but that tracks with the area.
We wasted points to book one room and paid for another - what a disappointing waste of points and money.

We stayed for five nights at the Hilton Hawaiian Village and unfortunately it was extremely overcrowded and didn’t feel like Hawaii at all. Our initial room was next to the tapas bar, so we had loud music in our room until 10pm every night — very difficult with a 5-year-old who couldn’t sleep. We were eventually moved to the Rainbow Tower, but only after being charged an upgrade fee.
Each morning around 4–5am, service trucks would back into the alley below with loud beeping that woke us up daily, along with constant traffic noise. It was not a restful environment.
The pools were freezing and often felt dirty, but we had little choice but to use them since our son wanted to go on the waterslide — which was frequently closed. On our last day, the pool with the slides were shut down entirely due to a fecal incident. The hot tubs were also packed with kids and felt overcrowded. Overall, the resort felt chaotic and more like a crowded theme park than a relaxing Hawaiian getaway.
The lagoon is calm and nice for kids, but it also seemed quite dirty. One staff member even commented that they personally wouldn’t swim there.
The only real positive was that the staff we encountered were consistently kind and helpful.

We were in room 1928 in the Rainbow Tower with a king bed and 2 balconies. The room and the balconies are very spacious with a beautiful view. We turned off the fan when we went to bed. The room was very quiet during the night. During the day and evening you can hear sounds from the street and the luau and a loud band from somewhere near the resort, which can be loud, but by around 11pm it is quiet.
The trolley to the Ala Moana center is only $6.00 for the full day. All of the meals we had at or near the resort except for 1 were excellent. We would recommend the Tropics Bar and Grill for breakfast and CJ'S Deli for lunch. There is also a great Mexican restaurant at Ala Moana. We celebrated Valentine's Day and our anniversary at Chart House, which is a short walk. Lappert's is wonderful for ice cream cones or sundaes. I don't recommend their coffee. The resort could use a quality coffee store like Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf that is open in the evening. Starbucks on site closes early and has long lines in the morning. It is not my favorite coffee.
As a lifetime member of the Gideons International, I was disappointed that there is no Bible in the room. Some of Hilton's competition like the Marriott always has Bibles in the rooms.
The beach and 2 lovely swimming pools are a very short walk from the Rainbow Tower. Every Sunday there is a church service presented by Waikiki Beach Church which we attended. It is setup under tents on the beach adjacent to the resort.
Our visit was a stress-free and very relaxing experience.
