A perfect location, if you prefer not to stay downtown (better value for money, free parking, perfect bus connections, two nice pubs across the street) The hotel itself has its good times passed a few decades ago. Only exception: the modern bathrooms.

We found the hotel to be placed on a large plot of land, surrounded by grass and our room (view photo 5) was full of nature. The beds in our rooms were soft and really comfortable to sleep in. The staff was kind and really lovely, and were keen to help you with any questions. We found that during our stay, Rebecca was the kindest staff member there. The buffet breakfast had a massive choice of different foods, warm drinks or juices. There’s a large seating area so it’s also early to find a seat.

Buses out side door to York Centre , so you can avoid the high parking fees of the city . Hotel not in heart of York so did not have to contend with the terrible city traffick and road closures due to the msny construction jobs. Found York itself beautiful and it was best to walk in or catch a bus.
