The hotel and grounds appear a little run down but the hotel inside, especially the rooms appear to have been refurbished to a good standard with comfortable beds and a full bathroom. Bad points are no air conditioning for cooling, only heating, with a desk fan provided, the completely none removable coat hangers in the open ‘wardrobe’ are very inconvenient. Service at the hotel was brilliant, polite helpful and friendly. However whilst one member of staff in the restaurant (pub) shared these attributes at breakfast, one older, and seemingly senior member of staff was very abrupt, unhelpful and relatively quite rude. I would stay again if in the area as it’s a good location but I think would get breakfast elsewhere.

Rooms are up to the usual high standard you'd expect from Premier Inn. One thing to note: there's no lift to the first floor, so if you're unable to carry heavy luggage up the stairs, be sure to request a ground floor room when booking or on arrival. Breakfast isn't served at the hotel itself — instead, the breakfast deal is provided at the neighbouring pub, Swan. On check-in, we received a really warm welcome from Ian — genuinely friendly and helpful. It's the kind of customer service other Premier Inn hotels should look to emulate. Overall a solid stay, let down only slightly by the lack of a lift for first floor rooms.

This is a great Premier Inn and although from the start it side it looks a little jaded, the makeover project that’s clearly going on means that our room was great. From a Swift check in to a Swift check out, everything was easy. The only thing to let it down was noise from other guests, but as we were literally there to sleep before heading to the airport, this was no issue!

An extremely friendly and comfortable two night stay. This was my fourth visit and as usual, it was very satisfying. The en suite rooms are spacious, spotlessly clean and peacefully well appointed. For hot days, even those without the benefit of air conditioning are kept cool by the thoughtful staff, who keep the curtains closed and at the shadier end of the building, the windows open. Electric cooling fans await you in your room. For lower temperatures, a thermostat heating control is provided. Nothing seems to be too much trouble for Michelle and the other extremely helpful staff. Should you request an iron and board for some last minute pressing, an alarm call or assistance with your room or booking a taxi - it's all most willingly provided. Catering is served by equally friendly and cheerful staff at the adjoining and front facing "Swan" pub and restaurant. This is equally as welcoming and comfortable. The food is fine with some nice choices. I eagerly look forward to a return visit next year. Thank you.
