I stayed on the middle floor. The noise insulation from upstairs is non existent. Whoever is upstairs has been walking around since at least 04:00 and this continued past 06:00, and they were doing the same well past 22:00. I could hear every step thudding and creaking through the ceiling, as well as their toilet flushing. In addition, the duvet is far too thick. I used the Aircon, but just couldn't get comfortable, due to the very very thick duvet. I've had a terrible night's sleep. I have meetings all day and I am exhausted. There are far cheaper hotels to stay in, but I booked Premier Inn because of the "guaranteed good night's sleep" policy. I think I will opt for the other hotels in the future.

Easy to get to. Check in was efficient and friendly with Fiona who also made our little girl feel at ease. Rooms need a good de-cobwebbing. Also could do with glasses for water and somewhere to hang wet towels that would dry them. Other than that, what you expect from a premier inn.

Booked a premier plus room. We stayed in room 216. The air con didn’t work. At all. We were melting and got little sleep all night. My husband called the reception and we were told the air con was set to 22c on their panel, meaning that even though it was set to 19c on the thermostat in the room, it wouldn’t go below 22c. She put it down for us but it didn’t help, it was so hot and stuffy, windows don’t open and we didn’t get much sleep at all. We were staying another night, but we were packed up in the morning, it was that bad I was happy to leave if nothing could be done, I knew I couldn’t survive another night in that room. I explained to the receptionist that the air con wasn’t working and she sorted us out another room but it wouldn’t be a premier plus room like I had paid for. We accepted it on the understanding that the air con would be working in the room. Room 234 has working air con and it looks to be a newer system to the one in the plus room. When we got in that room the thermostat showed the room temperature, unlike the thermostat in the premier plus room. It was already so Much cooler when we went inside the standard room but still 24c, so god knows how hot it was in the plus room we stayed in the first night. It felt like we were been boiled alive. The receptionist gave us a complimentary breakfast for the next morning which was good since we lost the plus room. Overall the hotel was good, clean and staff were friendly. It’s just a shame about the air con not working properly when the windows are sealed shut, surely it shouldn’t be allowed and there’s probably something in their policies regarding room temperatures. Even prisoners legally are allowed to have access to fresh air via an open window. Something needs to be done about the air con or guests should be allowed access to open windows at this hotel.
