Can't really ask for more for the price. Comfortablish bed, has an odd wire skirting to it that isn't too comfortable if you roll on to it. Clean, modern and in a better state of décor than some 4 star hotels I've stayed at lately.

If we could leave zero stars for service we would! Saturday evening 23/05, asked for extra milk as only had 2 in the room, asked young girl at reception, she barely bothered looking, literally rumaged through a dish of rubbish! before telling us there wasn't any! You're telling us this is a hotel with 14 floors and numerous rooms and not a single milk sachet?! Be interesting to see if room service in the morning magically finds some! Absolute jobsworth, she obviously wanted an easy shift so certainly won't be coming back here again, it may be trivial but just a disgusting service and attitude.

Not recommended if you will drive, nearest secure car park is 10-14 min walk, there are other NCP car parks in the area but not safe for overnight stay. Also not the best location if you are taking the train. Also the hotel staff refused to store my luggage on departure without making a donation (despite not declaring that in the signs inside the hotel asking to store our luggage) I am a premier inn regular guest but I would not visit this branch again

The staff here were so lovely. Helpful & friendly. Both in reception & in the block & bar. It was a work stay and we had breakfast & evening meal - the steak & churro sundae as most welcome after a long day. It’s a high building in a busy street but the room was soundproof- I didn’t hear any noise. Perfect location for us, 5 minute walk away.

Bar is the star, rooms great, breakfast poor. Premier plus room wonderful. Lifts, slow not enough. Bar in the evening, Bar and Block, fabulous staff. The star of this hotel is the bar staff. Friendly, original, the reason this premier inn is premier. Btw this was the evening of the Peter Kay suspicious bag scare, so lots of us sharing experiences. Breakfast oh dear. Not enough staff. Poor food, not premier at all. Poached eggs watery. Pancakes stale. Fruit compote frozen. Slow to replenish. Long wait to be acknowledged for table. Lack of condiments. I think Whitbread are make premier inns less premier, they are apparently considering removing bar and block, beefeater and the like. Well the rooms are great, but it's service which makes the difference and it's the restaurants and bars which provide the difference. As long as bar and block and the current evening team are here, this is a great premier inn.
