Very overpriced for what it is. For a family visit, the ticket price feels far too high, especially when you compare it with what you actually get inside. The aquarium is okay, but in my opinion it does not justify the cost. For this money, a family could spend a much better day elsewhere. Sadly, I would not recommend it at the current prices.

Today was a wonderful experience for me and my partner Gary. As influencers through our J&G social media platforms That do talk about ocean life and the Sea Life centres and not to mention we needed a day out to chill after busy tidying up and stress. This was the perfect place. The staff here are super kind, friendly, informative and just genuine people who really made us feel so welcome. Being the last and only sea life centre in Scotland it was definitely worth the travel to visit this lovely place with so many wonderful sea creatures living here.

Really small, you can see the whole thing in 10-15 minutes even if you stop and read the signs, absolutely not worth the price.
Also quite narrow and not well-signposted: when you reach the turtle tank, you can go left or right, you have the impression that you will walk in a circular loop. Turns out that going right leads to the exit and you have to turn back to see the small exhibit on the left side of the turtle tank. The left side leads to a dead end and you have to turn back again.
The rooftop view is nice at least.
Not worth it. If you want to go to an aquarium in the central belt, go to Deep Sea World in Queensferry instead.

We decided to visit on a Saturday and it was a lot quieter than expected, but after walking round I can see why. Despite paying £60 for two adults and one 4 year old we were done after one hour there.
The aquariums are well presented and there is a fairly decent variety of fish. We were very disappointed with the staff - despite the rock pool being empty when we went the person there made no effort to talk to our daughter and encourage her to look, she just gave her a generic “make sure you wash your hands before you touch anything”. Another staff member came over shortly after and the two of them were too busy talking about their personal lives to actually talk to us.
After walking around for an hour we went up to the cafe and when we got out the lift we thought we’d stepped out on an out of service floor at first. Similar to the rock pool the staff at the counter were more interested in their own conversation than serving us. I would wager the only update to the aquarium in the past few years is having a Costa coffee machine.
I have no doubt it’s not a cheap place to run, but we’ve visited much better aquariums elsewhere that are much better value for money. I wouldn’t recommend travelling far for it, and don’t expect much from the staff there.

The Sea Life Centre in Balloch is a fantastic aquarium and one that my child absolutely loves visiting. The exhibits are engaging, well maintained, and there is always plenty to see and learn, making it a great day out for us.
However, I would like to offer some feedback regarding the photo opportunity at the entrance. On several occasions, my child has felt uncomfortable when being approached for a photograph as we enter. While I completely understand that this is an optional service, there have been times when saying no has been met with further questioning, which can make it feel as though having a photo taken is expected or mandatory.
For children who are neurodiverse or for visitors with hidden disabilities, these interactions can be overwhelming and may cause distress before the visit has even begun. Unfortunately, this has sometimes affected my child's enjoyment of the day.
I would encourage the team to be mindful that some guests may not wish to participate and to accept a polite refusal without further pressure. A little extra awareness and sensitivity in these situations would help ensure that all visitors feel comfortable and welcomed from the moment they arrive.
Overall, it's a wonderful attraction that we enjoy visiting, and this small change would make the experience even better for families like ours.
