Advertises air conditioning in the rooms. This is false for many or most of the rooms. The staff on reception was very nice and apologised about this. But practically speaking it means, certainly if you're on the 3rd floor, that there is literally no ventilation into the room at all because (a) the windows are bolted completely shut, and (b) the cooling vents do not function (the control panel for them is not on). If it's summer, and there is any kind of heat, you will boil. I don't even think this is safe for elderly visitors. The hotel has a sign up in the lobby saying they are conducting an 11-month program of installing air con. We found later that we were among a number of guests at other hotels (with air con!) who had fled the crown plaza this week. At least we got a refund when we chose to go elsewhere instead of baking.

What a disappointment! For the price and reputation of this hotel, I expected a lot better. There is no air conditioning (and we are in the middle of a heat wave this week), no water pressure in the shower, and the construction workers starting banging around doing work quite early in the morning. I left after one day to stay at the Premier Inn around the corner, for half the price and with way better amenities! I would not stay at this Crowne Plaza again, until they sort out the air conditioning and water issues.

We are regular guests at the Crowne Plaza Stratford-upon-Avon, and every stay reminds us why we keep coming back. The level of customer service is consistently outstanding and truly sets this hotel apart.
A special thank you to Isabel and Sara on Reception, who are always welcoming, professional, and incredibly helpful. Their warm and friendly approach makes us feel valued from the moment we arrive.
We would also like to recognise Brad, the Manager, for his excellent leadership and commitment to ensuring guests have a fantastic experience throughout their stay.
The kitchen and bar staff also deserve praise for their attentiveness, friendliness, and excellent service. Nothing is ever too much trouble, and they always go above and beyond to make our visits enjoyable.
The combination of outstanding customer service, a welcoming atmosphere, and a consistently high standard of hospitality is why we continue to choose this hotel time and time again. We highly recommend Crowne Plaza Stratford-upon-Avon to anyone looking for a comfortable and enjoyable stay.
Thank you to the entire team – we look forward to our next visit!

Where to begin, several years ago we stayed and fire alarm went off. We stayed last year without trouble, this weekend we stayed in room 1038 for one night, again fire alarm went off at 7 am. Also there was a slight pungent smell in bathroom, we thought maybe last visitors had been unwell. As we were out most of evening we didn't really notice again until morning. Hotel is pleasant enough, breakfast is ample and varied. Hospitality as ever, wonderful.
Only criticism is to me, pillows are very flimsy, I struggle to sleep with them and when I did manage it, the fire alarm went off. Otherwise ok.

Don’t ever stay here when there is a function on till (for this function) midnight…. Unless you are attending the function so you might not mind. The noise is horrendous….and apparently this is the reduced volume version as they’ve been asked to turn it down…. You wouldn’t know it!!
Thanks for your response to my 1* above. It doesn’t alter the fact that the hotel wasn’t full and you deliberately put guests who (perhaps you didn’t know but you didn’t ask) were not attending the event into a room on the side of the hotel OVER the ballroom. Sense tells me to site persons attending such a noisy event in the rooms nearest the event.- they wouldn’t have cared - I’d like to think the host cared about other people but he probably couldn’t hear himself think… that level of noise in a bedroom was ridiculous and funnily enough it was even worse in the bathroom..
Your reception staff member was unhelpful merely offering points which I refused as I didn’t want points and as I told her “I don’t want points, I want the music to stop” and peace to sleep. It was gone 10pm…. I am a paying guest and I have an expectation of a full nights sleep. I was told “well they’re holding a function so I can’t do anything about that.” I’d paid to stay in the hotel for a nights sleep…. What was I supposed to do about that at 10 o’clock at night?
Neither my husband nor I are young sadly and sleep is very important. We were also tired after a long journey.
You also have a duty of care for your own staff. The volume of music for them would have been dangerous. I have a decibel meter and have the results recorded in our room. I dread to think what they would have been in the “ballroom” itself. Perhaps the H&S executive would like the results?
I checked with the reception this morning if there was an event tonight because if there was we would have checked out with good reason and thankfully there wasn’t.
Please give more consideration to all your guests. We didn’t all want to share the organisers retirement event but we had no choice…
