If I could give less than 1 star I would. We booked a family room. The hotel is beautiful and the staff were great. However, there was a wedding the night of our stay. This fully booked the hotel. The hotel staff had to control over the DJs for the wedding. It was making the glass I our bathroom door vibrate and thumping through the floor was ridiculous. So many people complained for refunds the next day after no sleep. The wedding went on passed 11 and the staff said we're sorry we keep asking them to tunlrn the bass down and there is nothing we can do. Our family room was put right above the function room. When we asked for a manager there as on the bar manager available. No security and reception staff basically said it is what it is. The bass qas that loud the cups on the tray in the bedroom were shaking. And staff just said sorry this always happens with these DJs and these types of weddings and there isn't anything we can do...do not recommend for a family stay or if you need sleep. We were offered a refund only for me to check it 14 days later and told sorry its not been processed.

This is the worst experience I have ever had at a hotel. Booking process was easy, nothing seemed wrong, until the day before we were supposed to check in, when the hotel sent a message informing us of the works they are doing to the air con. No word on whether we would be affected, no guarantee we would have air con in our room. We arrived, checked in, and of course we got a room on the third floor with no air con… it was very hot when we arrived, and not just a little stuffy, it was un-inhabitable. It was like stepping into an oven. But I thought, maybe it’ll get cooler in the evening, so we waited… it did not. I can only imagine the exhaust from the functioning air con units downstairs was going directly up to the third floor.
We hardly slept, couldn’t even think about sleeping under covers, and my wife and I had to stay at least a foot apart. Oh but don’t worry, the hotel in their infinite generosity provided us with two tiny fans to blow hot air on us… Went downstairs to ask if they had an alternative room.. they did not.
So I did the only thing I could and booked ourselves into the swans nest for the rest of the trip. The next morning as we checked out I demanded a full refund of our entire trip.
I am appalled at how greedy the hotel management is that they are still charging to stay in rooms that uncomfortable. So thank you, thanks for ruining the first night of our relaxing trip and causing so much stress for my wife and I.
Do yourself a favour and book swans nest.

There is no A/C in the room, we went to ask if we could change rooms, we were told by the receptionist that there were no rooms in the whole hotel that had A/C, we said this back to her and she confirmed it so there was no misunderstanding. After we came back from the day we spoke to some other guests who confirmed that they indeed had A/C in their room. We called the reception and asked what was going on and we had indeed been lied to earlier and that there are rooms with A/C. But now there was apparently nothing they could do to help as all rooms with A/C were taken... Was this another lie? Who knows, this was during one of the hottest nights on record - I have A/C at home so this was literally a downgrade from my house.
Do not come and stay at this hotel, it is one thing not having A/C but being lied too was appalling, you cannot stay anywhere were you can't trust.

Very disappointed as this hotel is advertised as having air conditioning by booking.com. But in reality they dont. They sent a message after booking that air conditioning will be temporarily unavailable due to maintainance, but this means it will be unavailable for 13 months !! There are two small fans in a room during the heat wave. Frankly disgraceful and do not know how they have a 4 star rating. Will be complaining to booking.com as well.
I wanted to post this so that other families will be aware and their holidays wont be ruined.

We stayed for one night on Saturday. It was an awful experience. Booked the room in September 25 to go to the RSC. We have used this hotel for a number of years.
We had an email 3 days before our visit to advise that our room had no air con. Cost of room was not to be changed, even though it was the hotel that had changed the amenity booked.
Fans in the room was the only option. Refused to move us, as they said hotel was full.
Keys to the room did not work. Always a long walk to the rooms! Returned and started to unpack and somebody else's clothes and bags in wardrobe. Then other guests tried to enter the room. It was their clothes in the wardrobe. We repacked and went back to reception. Fulsome apologies, but this is a serious security matter. As an apology, two free drinks at the bar! (NB. They quibbled as to what level of drinks we were entitled to)
When returned to room after theatre temperature was a little over 25°. Fans were hopeless.
We shall not be using this hotel in the future.
The standard of customer service was very poor. Even taking into consideration the heat in the room, the security issue was of the greater concern
