  My room was pretty grim, but functional. Round toilet seat on square toilet, was loose. Window looked over the kitchen flat roof with various bits of Industrial kit strewn about. Most staff nice. In the evening I went down to the bar for a beer and a sandwich. The bar / restaurant were all but empty. I asked about a snack and was shown the menu and told I could have anything except anything in the Brunch section. So I ordered a sandwich, which was not in the brunch section. Having initially taken my order the server told me I couldn't have a sandwich (as it was after 5pm) eventually she decided to ask the chef (who was busy cooking for an empty restaurant??) I heard him telling her he'd do it this time but not every night. Sandwich appeared quickly and was fine. All a bit Fawlty Towers. Feel sorry for the bar person having to negotiate with an apparently primadonna chef, with nothing to do.

  We were visiting local family and were beyond disappointed, thankfully for only one night! Disgraceful standard for a hotel in the UK. The bathroom was dirty with mould around the bath, skirting and bottom of the door rotting. Stained carpet ( possibly the result of a pet having an 'accident')? The only positive was breakfast together with the breakfast restaurant manager who helped us avoid the 'kennel' area. This hotel (and others here in the UK) need to have a real shake-up, and smell their own coffee. If they charge you over a hundred pounds a night WE should expect and have delivered far better standard than encountered here. We use equivalent priced hotels abroad and their standards of cleanliness, service, and environs are outstanding in comparison. They take a pride in delivering quality, our hotel industry just take.

  The room was spotless, quiet, and completely smoke-free. Requesting additional cups and towels was quick and hassle-free, and the reception staff provided great customer service throughout our stay. ​The room was well-equipped with free tea and coffee, a kettle, hairdryer, iron, and basic toiletries. The air conditioning worked perfectly, and they even thoughtfully provided an extra fan and portable heater in the room—such a lovely, attentive detail! Overall, a very comfortable stay. Highly recommended!

  No duvet in room. Asked once at reception, they said they would get one. Called an hour or so later. 6 mins on hold with no answer so went to reception. Asked again. Said they would bring one up. Still no duvet. Called on phone by lift. No answer. Air con broken. Spoons dirty. Toilet paper that dreadful stuff you'd get at a McDonalds. Room dusty. Still no sign of duvet. What kind of hotel doesn't provide duvets I have stayed many nights in IHG hotels and this is the only 1 star review I've needed to leave

  Silverfish in the bathroom (sign of mould) No real running water in the shower (see photo) Toilets unflushed the first time we entered the room Room was untouched overnight, not cleaned. Reception staff didn’t bat an eyelid. Apparently the cleaning service is optional to the cleaning staff, you don’t get to decide Stench of mould and damp in at least 6 rooms Set off asthma of one of the guests Bathroom light worked intermittently Asked for hotel manager to call to discuss; she didn’t even bother to call or leave a message. This entire operation drags down the brand and the IHG name. It is not four stars; it barely classifies as -4. This hotel is a shambles. Better off sleeping on a park bench. The dew in the morning will provide more running water than the shower, and no mould to clog up your lungs is a bonus. Avoid at all costs
