- SBSamantha BennettMar 28, 20261.0We recently stayed in cottage 42 and although we had a lovely time in the Isle of Wight I would not recommend this site to anyone. The accommodation was filthy and very worn. The hot tub was located at the back of the property and the outside table and chairs were located on the front so you could not sit out and relax with others if they were in the hot tub. The ground was pebbles and uneven slabs which is not great when you want to get in and out of the hot tub. The accommodation was supposed to sleep 6. When I questioned this at reception I was told 2 are to sleep on the sofa bed which was ridiculous umcomfy and not suitable for 3 adults. We only had 4 placements and 5 knifes. The door which led to the front patio didn't lock properly. We had maintenance come out twice and told us we weren't banging it hard enough. No door should have to be banged that hard to lock. We has a family with a small child did not think the accommodation was suitable for children.

No on site restaurant and bar and in the winter it's very difficult to find anywhere open in and around Freshwater or without driving. No Uber eats available in the area. Far more to do on the other side of the island.The weather was terrible while we were there. This also made going out more difficult. Also no WiFi and poor data signal in the cabins which nowadays is important.
