Stayed here after my partner had completed a charity coast to coast walk - after over 24 hours of walking, Hotel Indigo was the perfect resting place she needed. Beautiful hotel with stunning sea views from our room, thoughtful decor and personal touches, delicious food (breakfast delivered to the room was stunning!), genuinely lovely staff… the list goes on! Would absolutely recommend and will definitely be back!
Had a fantastic stay at Hotel Indigo Torquay. The hotel feels brand new, with a modern but cosy feel throughout. Our sea-view room was absolutely stunning, as well as the outdoor lounge area outside the main entrance where I enjoyed a coffee by the ocean every morning. I especially enjoyed the robes and slippers, as well as the complimentary refreshments in the mini bar - it was a nice touch.
The location was ideal; very peaceful and only a flat 20-minute walk along the coast from the bars, restaurants, and harbour area.
All members of staff were incredibly friendly, welcoming, and helpful, especially Isabelle. Nothing was too much trouble, and she genuinely made us feel valued as guests.
Overall, a beautiful hotel with excellent facilities, breathtaking views, and outstanding customer service. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Torquay.

This could and should be a great Indigo but sadly for us not a great stay. Check in was with a disinterested member of staff, asked all the right questions but did not listen to our replies. On returning to our room at 7pm tonight found it had not been serviced. Informed reception and were made to feel uncomfortable for bothering them. Obviously no system in place to check rooms are serviced. Returning to the hotel a 9.30 asked at reception if the room had now been serviced was told I think so if not contact us again, really, no follow up to see if we were happy or anything. The room had had a quick fix but not to a standard I would expect. We did have lunch and dinner yesterday in the hotel and service from Jackie was excellent and very friendly, meals were also good. Breakfast was so so. The hotel is no way full and if they can't cope now I dread to think what it will be like in high season. Guests should not have to ask at 7pm to have their rooms serviced. Staying in room 140 a King Premium Seaview. Indigo is our preferred brand but doubt we would stay here again.

We had overall a great stay at the hotel. Our room was absolutely lovely. It included an amazing bar setup and thoughtful extras that made our visit feel truly special. We also loved the unique view overlooking the train from our window.
Breakfast was a highlight of our stay. The service was great, and we were looked after wonderfully by Mary and Gary. A special shout-out must go to Monika, who was our host. She went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and helped with all our queries about Torquay.
We did experience a few issues during the dinner service as clearly they were very understaffed. However, the management team handled it as best they could. Manager Amy did an amazing job trying to amend the situation immediately. We also received lovely service from Leah and Marie in the roof top area, despite the hiccups. I did ask to speak to the GM regarding these issues, however apparently she was on holiday on one of the busiest weekends of the season.
I had a truly wonderful experience at Hotel Indigo. The room was beautiful, offering splendid views over Torquay. The shower was exceptionally powerful, and the bed was wonderfully comfortable. Our breakfast was delicious and flavorful. I would like to extend a special mention to Gary and James, who were the best waiters; they both worked incredibly hard together.
However, we did encounter some challenges with the breakfast service. There was one waitress named Monica who was quite unfriendly and rude towards us. I also observed her being critical of other staff members, and it appeared that some of the staff were genuinely upset by her behavior. It was disheartening to witness such treatment of colleagues. I even overheard another guest remark that she was one of the rudest individuals. It seemed as though she did not wish to be there and was indifferent to how she spoke to others.
If it weren't for Gary and James, who looked after us with such friendliness and professionalism, truly going above and beyond, my experience would have been significantly different. I also enjoyed lovely cocktails in the rooftop bar, and the meal at the Reef restaurant was delicious and mouthwatering. The waitress who served us, Marie, was fantastic and offered excellent recommendations for various dishes. We also had a delightful waitress named Kira who took our drinks order; she was very friendly and helpful.
At the reception, we were assisted by two lovely and friendly receptionists, Izzy and Isabell, who were incredibly accommodating to our needs and provided excellent recommendations for local attractions. I am truly pleased that I chose Hotel Indigo. As a long-standing member of IHG Rewards, I appreciate IHG hotels, but I was genuinely upset by the breakfast experience. If it weren't for the exceptional service from Gary, James, Marie, Kira, Izzy, and Isabell, I would have considered staying elsewhere if the situation hadn't improved. Monica's behavior in the restaurant, particularly how she spoke to staff and engaged in lengthy conversations at reception was quite off-putting. It is a shame, as I have worked in many hotels and understand the importance of excellent customer service. Well done to those who made our stay so fantastic.
