We stayed here for 2 nights.
Check in was not great, the gentlemen checking us in made things quite confusing and when we asked for clarification he was a little rude. We booked 3 rooms, 2 were on the same floor 1 on another so we asked if this could be changed, another gentlemen helped with this and it was changed without any issues (thank you)
We paid for the ‘meal deal’ which is not worth it in my opinion, there are plenty of local places very near by.
We ordered 2 prawn cocktails and chicken wings to start, 2 steaks (which you have to pay a premium for) and a hunters chicken,
The mains came out but no starters, the gentlemen who checked us in was serving us, he apologised and went to take the food back, we said no as it will just sit under a lamp so we will have it but if they could also bring out the starters, this was also no problem.
Steak was good well and as requested.
Hunters chicken tasted strange so around half was left.
Chicken wings were small but tasty sauce.
Prawn cocktail was just too much sauce on top of prawns so this was also left.
After we ate we sat talking but the staff and chef congregated at the end of the bar, we witnessed the (who we believe was the chef) chef slap a team members behind which is of course inappropriate, and the conversation did not seem like it should have been in front of customers, the man who served us also hovered with the table wipe, we took the hint and got up. When we were asked the pay for the extras we requested they be taken off (around £10) due to the issues, the manager was very accommodating and she removed it no problem.
Breakfast: sausages in a pan of grease, eggs in a pan of grease and hard, hashbrowns tasted of grease. Poached eggs and bacon were nice.
Rooms: the rooms are bright and the beds comfy, the bathroom has a lovely shower and a purple light which we found very calming, the room has aircon, TV and a hairdryer.
The 2 of the rooms were clean but the moved room was not at clean, there was dirt on the floor and pillow cases the wrong way around but still a comfy room.
I have stayed at other premier inns and found these rooms to be nicer, I would stay here again if i had to, but I would not eat here. And would hope the rude gentlemen was just having a bad day

It was a very relaxing place to stay, bit of a walk to the toilets, apart from that it was very nice staff were helpful to.

I am a solo female ADHD traveller, I was staying here for 3 nights work related. The location was spot on, lots to do, Trentham village is fab! And it has a Thornton's!! The Purple Palace was standard, I had a new designed room, all the dark wood replaced with light wood, made the room feel bigger. The staff on reception was friendly. Been Neruodivergent can make social situations a bit awkward, I usually find a corner in the restaurant, pop my headphones on and watch Netflix! But I'd like to give a shout out to 3 staff, Charlie, Leanne and Dan, from the restaurant these 3 really impressed me with their people skills, patience and understanding. I think these 3 need a bonus!!
Great couple of nights stay. Room was very clean. Staff were very busy but attentive. Evening meals were good and great value. Breakfast was OK and plentiful.
My wife and I stayed here for two nights suring the hot weather, and the staff very kindly put a fan in our room to supplement the aircon. Indeed, the Receptionists were very knowledgeable and happy to answer questions about the local area, and the cleaning staff did a superb job on our room each day. We were so pleased at the location being so very cloae ro Trentham Gardens and all the shops there, and the superb Willow restaurant just across the road from rhe hotel. If we ever come here again we will definitely stay there.
