  To stay here is to experience a physical manifestation of the below-par experience of much of the modern day U.K. It lacks character, especially for the "bar" area. It is a bit run-down. Everything within and around it is lowest cost, highest volume corporate crap, including the generic chain-pub net door. It is in an area with nothing else around. Staff were nice and helpful. Room was totally clean.

  The location was perfect for our trip to Shugborough . If you like sleeping with a window open bring earplugs, it’s very convenient for the M6.

  We stayed here for one night to break up a long journey to the Lake District. I can’t fault the hotel. It was clean, quiet, and had everything we needed. Parking was free, and there’s a McDonald’s just across the road. Breakfast was simple but good, and the staff were very friendly. We’ll be back for sure.
