Have been several times now and have had the best time. Toilets + restaurants are always clean and have felt safe at all times. The queues are sometimes somewhat uncomfortably long, however this should be expected in such a popular location and during peak times - so if walking far + long queues aren’t for you, get fast track! Ride closures are common and annoying but again expect it (i usually go from opening time and go on around 5-6 rides if you want the popular ones) - its usually for your safety or comfort. Sometimes I have found staff to be slightly rude but I imagine during busy times this should also be expected with some empathy for their fast paced service and how difficult it must be during hot weather, also, just think about how many people they aid in a day- i’d become a little bit frustrated too! In summary, this park is an amazing experience, if you are prepared to be patient and deal with minor disappointments as everyone at the park clearly does their best to give you the experience you have paid for the fasted and safest way. Bonus points for the beautiful scenery walking between rides if you take forest routes - i strongly recommend this if you tend to get bored of walking far between rides. like i do! I also think its worth stating the food and drinks are very expensive, so i recommend bringing your own food and drinks and some ice packs if you would prefer, some places only take card also.

My kids absolutely loved it here and, to be fair, the variety of rides and attractions is really well thought out for all age groups. There’s plenty to do throughout the day and the park itself has a great atmosphere. My only issue, and the reason I’m giving 3 stars, is the way Ride Access Pass (RAP) entrances are laid out for some attractions. The directions and signage can be really confusing and there doesn’t seem to be much consistency between rides. If it caused confusion for us, I can only imagine how difficult or overwhelming it could be for neurodiverse guests trying to navigate the park without becoming stressed or triggered. Considering there’s already a RAP app, it would make a lot of sense to include proper directional guidance or map routing directly to the correct ride entrances. My daughter has mild cerebral palsy and struggles with long walking distances and stairs without needing breaks, so we found ourselves doing more unnecessary walking than we should have because of the unclear layout. Overall still a memorable trip and the kids had an amazing time, but accessibility navigation definitely feels like an area that could be improved.

Two stars because the place is beautiful, and the rides are thrilling. But that's about it. The place is so massive, it is impossible to see everything in one day, the "islands" are spread so far from eachother, it takes about 10-15 min walk to get there. The queues are so massive, it takes from 30mins to 1hr wait for a 20 second ride, and I don't know if there is anything to fix this, maybe sell less tickets per day. So many rides are being closed throughout the day, thank god for the app, you can have a look and save yourself walking for the ride that is closed. And even if it is open, you go there, and they close last minute 🤣 and let's not forget about how far the carpark is. I think, for the money you pay, and all the travell, you should receive a bigger experience, what we received was 6 rides. I think this is a joke, this should be organised better, but of course it's all about the money, so you stay there, buy tickets for two days instead of one etc. Buy buy buy. And tbh, Blackpool might be smaller, but at least I know what I pay for, and get to enjoy more rides and it is also opened longer, because Alton Towers closes at 6pm and 4pm on weekdays. Thank you, but I won't be coming back, and I don't recommend.

I've always loved Alton towers, don't get me wrong the food choices are extremely poor now so I'd always advise on taking your own food plus if you do find yourself in huge queues you can pop open the butties while you wait and the downtime on rides can be frustrating but I think the ride ops and all other staff are amazing. You can turn up one day and it's nice and quiet and then the next day your endlessly queuing but it's a popular theme park so you have to expect this in my opinion. I hope in the future they either drop the height requirements down on some of the bigger rides or install some more thrill rides for the 1.2 to under 1.4 children, we often find that areas of the park aren't catering for these children and in my experience they become frustrated walking round a huge park and don't have any ride options in forbidden valley or x sector for example. A plus is the rides are amazing for the over 1.4 crowd, nemesis reborn, Air (will always be air to me and not Galactica), intoxicator, smiler, oblivion and Rita. For the under 1.4s there is runaway minetrain (Choo Choo), thirteen, the curse, spinball, the rapids and wicker man (big bob) and not forgetting octonaughts and now the bluey coaster. For the very small children there is all the rides on offer in cbeebies land which does include octonaughts and bluey.

Visited on 9 May 2025 with my two kids. Arrived at 10:30am, left at 5pm, and in that time we successfully completed three rides and approximately 14 marathons’ worth of queuing.Started strong with Galactica (50 minute queue) and Nemesis Sub Terra (25 minutes). Both good rides. Spirits were high. Hopes were alive. Then came Nemesis Reborn. Queued 35 minutes… only for it to close because of “an issue with another guest.” Apparently one person misbehaving means everyone else must suffer. Group punishment but make it theme park.Stopped at the toilets next always a bold choice. Graffiti everywhere, vandalism, and a toilet seat that clearly didn’t want to be part of the rest of the toilet. Honestly one of the more memorable attractions of the day.Queued 35 minutes for Rita next. Ride closed. No explanation. Staff present, but questions unanswered. Frustration levels rising across the crowd like a badly managed wave machine. Thought we’d try The Smiler. Saw the 70 minute wait. Laughed nervously. Walked away. Thankfully Oblivion came to the rescue with a 15 minute wait and was genuinely brilliant the highlight of the day. Would’ve gone again, but the kids had met their annual adrenaline quota by this point. Tried one last ride near the exit Spin ball Whizzer. Queued 25 minutes. Ride cancelled again. Of course it was. Finished the day in the gift shop where the prices suggest the items were forged by elves under a full moon. Drinks were equally exciting £4 for a Monster energy drink, which almost knocked me out faster than Oblivion did.Add in £15 parking and nearly £200 total spend, and the value for money just wasn’t there. Thank goodness we brought a packed lunch, otherwise we’d still be paying it off on Klarna lots of walking, lots of queueing, lots of ride closures, not much fun. If standing in lines is your hobby, you’ll love it. Otherwise, there are better ways to spend your money and probably with fewer cancelled plans.
