  ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Good experience, but a little overrated We visited Thorpe Park on a weekend and overall had a really fun day. The rides were enjoyable and we managed to do pretty much everything we wanted without buying any queue-jump passes. One thing to be aware of is the queue before you even enter the park. The park opened at 10:00 AM and we arrived around 10:05 AM, but we had to wait roughly 45–60 minutes for the security/ticket-check queue. We didn't actually get inside until around 11:00 AM. So even if you've bought your tickets online and arrive on time, expect a significant entrance queue on busy days. Inside the park, the displayed ride waiting times also seemed quite inaccurate. Some rides showed 60–90+ minute waits, but in our experience the actual wait was often much shorter. For example, a ride showing around 90 minutes took us roughly 30 minutes, while another showing over 100 minutes took around 45 minutes. Because of this, I personally wouldn't rush to buy the paid fast-track option just because the displayed waiting time looks huge. The rides themselves were really good and we had a great time. I'd say Thorpe Park is worth visiting, but don't go in expecting too much because it is a little overrated. Even on a busy weekend, we still managed to enjoy all the main rides without paying extra to skip queues. One negative experience was with some of the carnival-style games, particularly the basketball game where you pay to try to win a soft toy. Some of the hoops/nets appeared bent or positioned differently, which made the game feel unfair. I'd personally avoid spending money on those games. Overall, a fun day out with great rides, but be prepared for queues, don't automatically trust the displayed waiting times, and be careful about spending extra money on fast-track passes or carnival games.

  Nice park but no very poor provisions for artistic children and appealing customer service when it comes to helping people that have made a mistake. Impossible to log onto the app to get aid in queueing. If you don’t book months in advance, don’t expect to get any provision for making this an enjoyable trip for your children to join you if they have autism. I accidentally booked Without realising that my son was only 139 cm and needs to be 140 to get on most rides. With his autism account, leave him on my own as a single parent of two. So within minutes of making the booking, I return a call to Thorpe Park explaining my situation they refused a refund regardless of my innocent mistake. Absolutely no care or understand understanding from this company whatsoever. Have some blah blah blah about non-refund policy. What a joke don’t be falling into thinking these people care about you have any level of Customer sevice.. They don’t. When it comes to the Merlin pass trying to get Hughes, it’s impossible to get any dates at all unless you book like a year in advance. They tell you to Check back 48 hours before the opening of your book, Day….. And then you’re in a queue of 400 people to get tickets. Utter a joke, utter shambles. Will never go back to this park ever again or any of the other Merlin entertainment parks for that matter.

  I visited Thorpe Park a week ago on a Friday for a family day out. We had 4 children with us 2 of which are under a year old so we wanted to visit the little pretend beach. As we approached the beach my brother left the group as he needed to visit the bathroom. On his return to the beach, before even stepping onto the sand he was stopped and asked by a member of staff 'excuse me sir do you have family here on the beach' my brother was very taken aback and very angry as by asking this question without him even setting foot on the beach to return to his family and young son, implys something really awful. He was also approached by staff in the water and ordered to delete a family video of his baby playing in the water with his cousins. When he questioned the staff as to the reason he needed to delete it as there were no other children or people in the video they then accused him of being aggressive and informed security who arrived within seconds and removed my brother from the beach and banning him from returning resulting in what should've been a lovely family day out being ruined. I am absolutely disgusted my brother was treated this way and I will never return to Thorpe park again. I think they need to take a look at their policies and make some serious changes. You don't question an innocent person about having a family on the beach before even allowing them the opportunity to set foot on there and rejoin their family. The money they charge for entry tickets as well as food prices once inside and all the arcade machines it's an absolutely appalling way to treat people.

  We had a great family day here and were fortunate with the weather. It stayed overcast for most of our visit, which was actually perfect for spending a full day going from ride to ride without getting worn out by the heat. We deliberately chose a weekday and the queues were nowhere near as bad as I had expected. There was still some waiting for the more popular rides, of course, but nothing that spoiled the day. Interestingly, of all the big attractions, Samurai was the ride that really gave us our adrenaline moment. It may not receive quite the same attention as some of the headline rides, but for us it was easily one of the most memorable experiences of the day. Colossus came next, particularly with its seemingly endless sequence of sharp turns, twists and inversions. The park itself was impressively clean, well organised and felt very secure. Staff throughout were friendly and helpful, which makes a noticeable difference when spending an entire day somewhere with the family. Food is predictably expensive, and the various fairground-style toss-to-win games can cost a pretty penny once everyone starts having a go. They are fun, but the spending can creep up on you surprisingly quickly. Overall, though, it was a genuinely enjoyable family day and one we would happily repeat. Next time I am seriously considering making more of it by booking one of the cabins and turning the visit into an overnight stay. Great rides, friendly staff, a very clean park and plenty to keep a family entertained for the whole day.

  ⭐️ Very disappointing experience at Thorpe Park I’m extremely disappointed with our experience at Thorpe Park. I paid for myself and my three children and made the effort to arrive at 10am so we could make the most of the day, but unfortunately the majority of our day was spent standing in queues. We waited 40–55 minutes in multiple queues, and at one point we had already been through around four different queues, only to then be told that the rides had been seized/closed due to an issue. What made this even more frustrating was the lack of communication. If there is a known problem with the rides, customers should be informed as soon as possible so they have the opportunity to make alternative plans rather than spending hours queuing with their children. We also paid extra for Fast Track tickets, but honestly, they made very little difference to our experience. We were still left waiting around, and there was no clear communication about what was happening. What upset me most was seeing so many children, including mine, standing around for hours in the hot sun, waiting for rides that ultimately weren’t operating properly. Children have limited time and energy, and when families are paying a significant amount of money for a day out, this is simply not good enough. I understand that technical problems can happen and that safety has to come first, I have no issue with rides being stopped for safety reasons. My issue is the poor communication and the lack of consideration for the customers. I genuinely think Thorpe Park should consider offering replacement tickets or some form of compensation when a significant number of rides are unavailable for prolonged periods. It isn’t fair for families, particularly those with children, to pay for a full day out and then spend most of it queuing and waiting around without being properly informed. Overall, a very disappointing and frustrating experience. Definitely not what I expected after paying for a family day out, and I would think twice before visiting again. The beach was nice.
