To be fair, I'm biased because I'm obsessed with theme parks. I even bought a Merlin pass, so the fact that there was almost an hour and a half wait to get into the park doesn't bother me that much. I've already been almost three times this year and am still set to go another two or three times. It was really busy though, so I do recommend that if you're particular about going, try to go at the start of the year in March or in October, or at least when schools are in session and during the weekday. I definitely recommend doing Hyperia at the start of the day or towards the end of the day when most of the crowds have gone home. It used to be that my favorite ride was Swarm, but Hyperia has topped that. Unfortunately, again though, it can be a pretty long wait even if the rest of the park isn't that busy. It can get up to 75 minutes, if not longer. But overall it's a great experience and I definitely recommend it. There are also so many great food options as well, like two Burger Kings, KFC, unlimited pizza and pasta, as well as the other little food shops about, so you're never going to get hungry if you don't want to take food with you. One thing I will say though, if you don't like water rides, avoid the water rides. I only go on them because my dad is obsessed. I personally hate water rides because then the rest of the day I end up being wet, and also they have a tendency to close down the water rides when it's raining, which I find quite funny. As a part of my Merlin pass I get free parking but just be aware that if you don't have that it is £12 to park. I live in the Portsmouth area and I found that I was able to get pretty easy transport to the park via both bus and train; it's still fairly out of the way though compared to say Chessington. So be prepared if you don't drive a car. And make sure you leave with plenty of time for the park's usual opening time of 10. Which also brings me on to make sure that if you're going to go download the app so you can check on the app to see when the opening times are of the park as well as other things like ride wait times and also directions to rides within the park.

0 Stars if i could Very disappointing experience at Thorpe Park today. I visited with my little brother and little sister and our day was ruined before we even got into the park. When we arrived, the entrance queue barriers were completely empty. A group of people ahead of us opened one of the barriers and walked straight through instead of walking around them. Since there was nobody queuing and they weren’t skipping anyone, we followed. A security guard told the other group to go back around the barriers, but they ignored him and continued walking. Instead of dealing with the people who ignored him, he then focused on my little brother and insisted that we walk all the way back around. We questioned why we were being singled out when the people who actually ignored his instruction had been allowed to carry on. We eventually did as instructed and walked back around. Once we reached the front again, I asked the security guard why he had challenged us but not the other group. Rather than simply explaining the situation, the interaction became unnecessarily confrontational. Another younger security guard then got involved and started telling me to watch how I spoke and not point at him, despite the fact that I wasn’t even speaking to him. The situation then escalated further and we were removed from the park for what security described as “aggressive behaviour”. From my perspective, this was a complete overreaction to a minor issue that could have been resolved with a simple conversation. I understand that rules exist for a reason, but they should be enforced consistently. If one group can ignore instructions and continue walking while another is stopped and challenged, it creates the impression of unfair treatment. What should have been a fun family day out ended before it even began because of the way the situation was handled by security staff. Extremely disappointed and unlikely to return. Security wouldn’t even give names just badge numbers 014 024 013 - Team Leader

always love coming here great day out with friends and family staff are lovely. queue times will say 5 minutes for the first half hour of the day before they become more accurate and most likely are. theres not alot of shade in the queue lines and the queue line shops often seem to be closed on rides such as Saw, the Swarm and Colossus so filling up with drinks before starting the queue would be the best. the parks main audience and majority of those in the park are pre teens, teenagers and young adults so if you have younger kids it might not be as fun for them due to there being 4 rides and a beach for them and even then when the parks gets busy you will find these rides get busy as something to ride when there's massive queue times. car park plenty of car parking space available it is a mix of pavement and stone to park on and no marking of lanes so you will have to remember where the car is and wonder for a while. there is disabled parking at the front of the park close to the front which is pavement. if you attend on super busy days and the car park gets full there is an overflow which is a grass car park. there is also easy bus transport from staines train station and shopping centre and also a drop off and pick up which is free for 30 minutes

We had a two night stay on park in the shark cabins, now I've only given 4 star as sadly the amount of time rides were broken down was really disappointing. Sadly due to ride closures it then pushed other rides into long waiting times. We luckily had a two day pass so split it over the two days so I recommend doing that. They supply sun cream and water stations which is a bonus when you get caught out with the weather, however many were empty or didn't work, So try to remember your sun cream. The Shark Cabins are very small they would suit a family with little children they are however clean and well equipped. You are are a short drive away from restaurants and shopping in the evening rather than paying the park prices for food and drink. In future I would Pay the extra and go off park for both food and accomodation. There is a Bonus of being on park though you don't have to queue up for security checks as you are already on park, however every time you go out to get your suit case or food you go through the security again even if you just pop to the car park, Safety I guesse. All in all not a bad break! Is it worth the price tag I'm not sure. We traveled from Cornwall so it was necessary to stay over, if you live within distance it's definitely worth going. The ride when working were fantastic and the park hosts were always professional and helpful.

Having been to the theme park many times in the past, I'd probably give it as a whole 4 stars out of 5. My rating for my most recent experience yesterday-not so high. Entirely due to the rather unceremonious experience we had with two of the staff members at Nemesis Inferno. We entered the queue for the ride in the early afternoon via the fast track entrance using our pre-purchased fast track tickets entitling us to one use per ride for the 5 included rollercoasters. The tickets were scanned by staff and we passed through the fast track passage to the final queue at the top, no problem. Within a matters of minutes of us entering the final part of the queue, it is announced over the tannoy that entry onto the ride is being halted indefinitely due to an engineering fault. No problem but unfortunately that leaves us as paying customers/ park guests in a bit of limbo. Do we wait indefinitely for the ride to reopen or do we exit the queue and return later in the day when it is working? Of course, our tickets for this ride have already been scanned so maybe if we do leave the queue this means we won't be able to use them on this ride again- notwithstanding us not actually boarding the ride in the first place. I come up with an idea - "let's ask a member of staff" - it's genius! I make my way back to the start of the fast track queue to try to locate the staff member who originally scanned us in. Rather handily, she's now positioned at the very front entrance of the ride and a gate is now in place stopping new guests from entering the queue and guests already in the queue from leaving. I try to wave her down to come over to the gate so I can speak to her. She's not having it. I have to come over to speak to her apparently. She's even so kind as to instruct me how to open the gate so I can physically leave the queue to go and speak with her. I approach her and query our position regarding returning to the ride later even if our tickets have already been scanned. We have to query this with Guest Services I'm advised. Once again, no problem! I make my way back through the gate and up the queue to try to give my partner the update. Before I even get the chance to liaise with my partner back in the queue, I hear a voice shouting in the distance. "YOU CAN'T GO BACK INTO THE QUEUE". Low and behold, it is the female member of staff I had just spoken to who is now admonishing me. Seconds later, I am accosted by her male sidekick who has followed me back up the queue and is trying to escort me out of the queue. "Can I not even go and tell my partner what you just told me?" I protest. My protest falls ultimately on deaf ears- "No, you left the queue so you can leave" I am informed as he gazes into my eyes like a stroppy teenager. Now this is problematic for several reasons: 1) My intention on returning to the queue was only to liaise with and effectively collect my partner from higher up in the queue where I had left her before seeking advice from staff. We had no intention of remaining in the queue there and then. 2) Even if it had been my intention to return to the queue to board the ride, we would have been jumping the queue in front of no other guests in doing so. As mentioned, we had fast track tickets and the ride quickly came to a halt moments after we entered the top of the queue. No one had the opportunity to even enter the queue after us due to the barriers being closed. I would have been effectively resuming my position back in the queue. 3) I only physically left the queue in the first place because THE STAFF MEMBER TOLD ME TO LEAVE THE BARRIER SO THAT I COULD SPEAK TO HER ABOUT MY QUESTION Make it make sense!? Of course when the majority of the resort's staff are teenagers then I guess you can expect this general type of behaviour and lack of common sense.
