Nice Premier Inn. Air Conditioning would make it even better.

I got here on a Friday afternoon. It was empty until around 6 o’clock. Our room has bad peeled paint off some of the walls the mirror in the bathroom had rottened away at the top. The fan we had wasn’t working as good so we had to keep the window open all night. The water didn’t turn down to cold even though I turned to the coldest setting. The floor is very creaky and if one of my family members moved the floor would wake me up. The food at the restaurant took a while to come but it was standard. 2/5 wouldn’t recommend.

We decided to have dinner at the Premier Inn Airfield Yeovil restaurant last night. We arrived at 7:30 pm and ordered:
* 2 × Rigatoni Bolognese
* 1 × Linguine Arrabbiata
* 1 × Vegetarian spring rolls (starter)
* 1 × Chicken satay skewer (starter)
Our drinks arrived quickly, but after 45 minutes there was still no sign of any food. I asked the waitress for an update, and she told me she was “discussing it with the chef.”
Another 15 minutes later, our starters finally arrived. The attached photos speak for themselves. The vegetarian spring rolls had clearly been reheated in a microwave and had burst open, while the chicken satay skewer looked as though it had simply been thrown onto the plate. It was almost comical.
The biggest surprise came when the waitress then informed us that our main courses were only just about to be started. At that point, after already waiting an hour, we decided to return the starters and cancel the main courses. We simply weren’t prepared to wait another hour for three pasta dishes.
I genuinely felt sorry for the waitress. She remained polite and friendly throughout, and none of this seemed to be her fault. As a gesture, we were not charged for our three Cokes.
The restaurant itself also doesn’t create a very welcoming atmosphere. It feels cold, dark and rather dated. Normally that wouldn’t be an issue if the food and service were good—or if the food actually arrived.
After this experience, we politely declined breakfast the following morning.
That said, I would like to point out that the hotel staff were very friendly, welcoming and helpful throughout our stay. The room was clean, comfortable and exactly what we expected from a Premier Inn. Our disappointment relates solely to the restaurant experience, which unfortunately fell far below expectations.

The rooms have no air con yet they appear to have it in reception. (Despite the doors being open) My room had a dirty fan. We were there during the heatwave.
My teaspoons had what looked like Cif dried on them. The rest was okay.
The real reason for this review is the breakfast provided by the pub next door, Airfield TavernI (they have turned off their reviews so you can’t leave feedback) I asked for boiled eggs and was told they don’t have the facilities to do boiled eggs! Who doesn’t have a pan and boiling water? I could tell that the waitress had no interest in even making an attempt as all she did was moan to people about the hot weather. The rest of the breakfast didn’t look appealing or fresh, so I paid £10.00 for a coffee and went to work hungry. Either Airfield Tavern do better or Premier Inn hold them to account!
