    I stayed here for a night, whilst I was visiting Taunton. Excellent service from the staff all around. They were very kind and welcoming. There was also a variety of meal options for breakfast and dinner, and they were quite delicious too. The room was decent, although there was a smell radiating from the carpet. Otherwise the room was relatively clean, including the bathroom. The shower was also good, very powerful! If you are coming from an area with good transportation links (i.e London), you will need to adjust accordingly. From what I gathered, the local bus service isn't as frequent, or prominent as the Tfl ones. Therefore, travelling by car is better. However, Uber is also available with prices ranging from £6-9 per journey. All in all, this was a positive experience with albeit minor issues regarding the smell.

    My father is disabled and needs oxygen cylinders and a concentrator: there were plenty of disabled parking spaces and on our arrival, two staff immediately offered to carry the oxygen into our room. It was wonderful that the reception, lounge, bar and restaurant were all on one level (no steps) and close to our room - at my request made at the time of booking, we were allocated Room 1. Despite its proximity to the motorway, the room was quiet and we both slept well, also thanks to the air conditioning and comfortable beds. The buffet breakfast was superb, including many clearly-labelled vegan options: three different plant milks, vegan croissants, Flora sunflower margarine, Alpro yogurt, vegan sausages and cereals. Our evening meal options were good: we ate in the hotel one night, at the nearby Harvester another and at the Hankridge Arms pub too (the latter was further away, but Dad was able to rest in the little park at the halfway point). The Stagecoach PR service ran regularly (except on Sundays) between the bus stop that was a three-minute walk away and the town centre and only cost £1 per journey. I would recommend this hotel and am grateful to all the staff who made this possible.

    Given the wrong room key, confront abruptly by a very cross customer who was already in that room. Very disappointed

    Poor breakfast £14.95 day before £15 .95 on the day room not set up for family and dirty socks in room and paint on pillow case
