  Underwhelming would be my one word summary. The rooms are nice, big, clean if basic. Basic is fine of course; but these days when Premier Inn prices are nudging 4 star levels…it’s not good enough. Despite temperatures dropping significantly outside; these rooms are still too warm. Penny pinching air con settings don’t cool the room with barely a wheeze of air. Air con was set to 19. I would guess the room temp never dropped below 26. Uncomfortable all night. I didn’t ask for a fan deliberately. Who wants to try to sleep in a room with a/c but then you need a noisy fan too!? Ridiculous. Decided to eat in the restaurant. I wish i hadn’t. Prawn starter was like something a student would do. Sliced lettuce, canned sweetcorn, crushed Doritos and 3 prawns covered in sweet chilli sauce. Desperate. Fish n chips with peas. 60% batter 40% fish. And the thinnest, driest fish. Over cooked dry peas. Ok chips. Meh. Then back to hot room. In the morning i forgot there’s no irons in the room; I couldn’t be bothered to ask for one. Breakfast was ok. Service was fine people were friendly. But when beyond check in you don’t really see or speak to anyone as mostly it’s self serve and there’s nothing else they have to offer…I’m not sure what more i can say. Will be seeking out other alternatives to Premier Inn for future stays.

  Terrible experience I was served a meal that contained insects. I raised the issue immediately and was given several assurances that the matter would be addressed, but none of those promises were followed through. I then contacted Guest Relations, but I found their handling of my complaint disappointing. Rather than focusing on my experience as a customer, they appeared more concerned with defending the complaint. They claimed the insects had landed on my plate between the kitchen and my table, which I strongly dispute. i had to fish the insects out of the rice!. Regardless of how they got there, I was still served a meal containing insects but failed to accept the responsibility. I also requested a copy of their complaints policy on several occasions, but my requests were ignored. I escalated the matter to senior management twice and received no response either time. I requested a full refund for the meal, but again was ignored! so i had to pay for a meal that i couldn't eat! Based on my experience, I would not recommend eating at Premier Inn Solihull Town Centre. My biggest disappointment was not only the incident itself, but the way it was handled afterwards. Shocking service
