  Lovely hotel for an overnight stay. Restaurant food was fresh and big portions. Really comfortable rooms. Highly recommended.

  Extremely Poor Customer Service and an Absolutely Disgraceful Experience I am extremely disappointed and disgusted with the way this situation has been handled by Holiday Inn and ParkingEye. I visited the gym as a guest of my son, who is a member. I received a £100 parking charge from ParkingEye, and although I contacted the hotel to explain the situation, what followed was a frustrating and unacceptable experience. When I initially contacted Holiday Inn, I was assured that they would deal with the matter. However, I subsequently received another parking notice. I contacted the hotel again by email and was instructed to send them the details, with the assurance that they would arrange for the charge to be removed from the system. To my disbelief, I later received an email stating that they could not remove the charge and that I would need to contact ParkingEye by telephone. The number they provided did not work, leaving me with no effective way to resolve the issue through the contact details supplied by the hotel. I have also submitted an appeal directly to ParkingEye, yet I have not even received an acknowledgement. The complete lack of communication and the contradictory information I have received have made this an incredibly stressful and frustrating experience. What is particularly disappointing is that the hotel initially gave me the impression that the matter would be resolved, only to leave me to deal with the consequences myself. This has seriously undermined my confidence in the way the hotel handles customer concerns. The way this matter has been dealt with is absolutely appalling. I expected reasonable assistance and professional customer service, but instead I have been left feeling let down, ignored and passed from one party to another. I would urge anyone using this facility to be aware of the difficulties I have experienced should a parking dispute arise. Holiday Inn should take these complaints seriously and review how situations like this are handled. Based on my personal experience, I am thoroughly dissatisfied with the service I have received and would think twice before visiting this facility again. "Please stop spending time managing public reviews and instead look into the false fine you have wrongly issued me. Escalating the charge while ignoring the actual dispute is appalling treatment of a customer."

  We had a wonderful stay at this hotel! The rooms were spotlessly clean and very comfortable. Breakfast was a classic, standard English breakfast. What made our stay truly special, though, was the staff; everyone was exceptionally friendly, kind, and always willing to help. Highly recommended!

  We stopped overnight on way back to Kent from Lake District to attend Haydock Races. Literally less than 5mins from M6 J23 (A580) Hotel is under 15min walk from Racecourse. Check in was friendly and efficient and our allocated ground floor room was quiet location and very comfortable. Food and service in restaurant was very good, particular praise for young Joe, completing his last shift before continuing his studies - a natural if he ever wants a successful career in hospitality! All the staff we encountered were very professional and friendly and a credit to the hotel. We would have no hesitation staying here again. Thank you.

  We stayed for the dinner, bed and breakfast package and used the leisure facilities. The building looks a little dated. The staff were very polite and friendly. The leisure facilities were ok, a few lockers broken and a bit of a refurb needed but pool and sauna available, steam room was out of order. In the restaurant the service was great. Food was nice with a decent choice. The breakfast was good quality and lots of choice. The rooms where good. Very clean but again a bit dated. The bed was soft but got a good night sleep. The TV was old but worked fine. There was a hair dryer and plenty of tea and coffee available and a mini bar. The bath and shower needed a few little jobs done but worked. It was a premium room which was justified by the facilities but maybe not decor. All round it was good value and served the purpose we needed
