- STSara Thomas6 days ago3.0Not a bad hotel for one night, in fairness. However trying to contact the hotel prior to your visit is an exercise in futility. They don’t answer the phone, and they don’t respond to emails. (Tried various times over a couple of days) Crazy as I was actually trying to give them more money. The Saturday of our stay, they had a wedding taking place in the hotel. My husband had to wait a very long time for a drink and was told the chance of him getting any food was virtually non existent The room was nice and clean, and the bed comfortable and fresh. There were several fans as obviously these older buildings don’t have air con. Declined breakfast so can’t comment on that. Car park badly needs resurfacing. It’s now Monday night and I still haven’t had a response to my email of Friday.

Not sure what the office chair did there but it was fine. Check in - my name wasn’t mentioned 3 times as it used to be an IHG standard. No mention of any loyalty programmes and memberships. Wood key cards - something I haven’t come across before! Plenty of parking, even EV charging available. Would come back.

Brooke on reception does an amazing job and are very grateful for her. The breakfast staff are friendly and the VIL initiative is such a good idea, my kids love it.
