  Located close to the Oracle shopping centre and Reading town centre. Rooms clean and comfortable. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Easy to check in. Had a very good time staying here.

  I've driven past many Premier Inns in my time, London, Birmingham, Bristol but this is by far the best I've ever driven past.

  I was extremely disappointed with my stay at Premier Inn. When I first arrived in my room, there was a very strong sewage-like smell, which made the room unpleasant from the outset. When I pulled back the bedsheets, I discovered stains and hairs that clearly did not belong to me, raising serious concerns about the cleanliness and hygiene of the room. I reported this to reception, and to be fair, the staff did arrange for me to move to another room. However, upon entering the replacement room, I was met with another very unpleasant and strong smell. When I went to use the shower, I also found hair and other debris, which made me feel that the bathroom had not been cleaned properly either. The overall experience was unacceptable and fell far below the standards I would expect from Premier Inn. I have stayed at many Premier Inn hotels over the years and have never experienced anything like this before. It was extremely disappointing to have to deal with these issues, particularly when basic cleanliness and hygiene should be a given. Although I appreciate the reception staff’s effort to resolve the initial issue, moving me to another room did not resolve the problem, as the replacement room was also unpleasant. This experience has left me questioning the housekeeping standards at this particular hotel.

  Extremely disappointing stay at Premier Inn Reading Central I've stayed at Premier Inn hotels on numerous occasions and have generally found them to offer comfortable rooms, professional staff and a reliable standard of service. Unfortunately, Premier Inn Reading Central fell well below those expectations. The problems began before we even arrived. After making our reservation, I attempted to contact the hotel to clarify the parking arrangements, as the instructions on their website were unclear. I called the hotel's direct number 17 times over a 24 hour period, without a single answer. I eventually contacted Premier Inn's head office, who confirmed I had the correct number but explained that hotel staff were often busy and answering the telephone was not a priority. Frankly, I find that unacceptable. Being able to contact a hotel directly with a simple enquiry should be a basic expectation of customer service. Unfortunately, things didn't improve upon arrival. We had booked a Premium room, expecting a higher standard of accommodation, but the room was tired, poorly maintained and in desperate need of attention. Several fixtures appeared to be falling apart, and the curtains actually fell down during our stay. The bed was also uncomfortable and, in my opinion, long overdue for replacement. For a room marketed as Premium, the overall condition was particularly disappointing. To make matters worse, a large group of approximately 40 men attending a stag party were also staying at the hotel. Unfortunately, the noise coming from the car park during the night was significant enough to wake us, further affecting what was already a disappointing experience. The one genuine positive is the location, which is excellent, with Reading town centre just a two minute walk away. Overall, this was an extremely disappointing experience. I appreciate that hotels can be busy and that occasional issues arise, but the problems we encountered were not minor inconveniences. They were failures in basic customer service, room maintenance and guest comfort. Premier Inn is a brand I have generally trusted, which makes this experience all the more frustrating. Reading Central is unfortunately nowhere near the standard I have come to expect, and I would be very reluctant to stay here again.
