  Lovely clean room, great bathroom with a greag shower. Good price, parking a bit of a pain and have to pay for it too. But staff friendly and helpful, great value for what we needed

  Spent three nights here in a family room - one double bed and one double sofa bed. We stayed during a mattress changeover period and can't say the beds were any more comfortable when we were the first people to sleep on them - like lying on a rock. The sofa bed was so uncomfortable we ended up folding it up and just having the mattress on the floor for the children after the first night. Goodness knows how heavier adults would sleep on it. Recommend this hotel to folks who like a firm mattress and who won't need to use the sofa bed. The room otherwise was very serviceable and kept clean. There was air con which was definitely wanted during a heatwave but it seemed sometimes to be significantly cooler than other times which was frustrating. The staff were outstanding, not a single negative to any of our interactions. We initially complained that our toilet didn't flush but it turns out we're just idiots and only one of the buttons operates - reception staff were kind and had a handyman check it anyway, who was there when we returned to the room to make sure we knew there was no issue and give us a masterclass in flushing a toilet. At breakfast Suleyman was wonderful with a pocketful of sweeties for children, remembering them and what our plans were from the day before, checking in with them and making them feel important. The children were offered freshly cooked pancakes every morning when we sat down which was lovely. Staff were attentive without being intrusive, and our table was kept cleared as we ate. I was grateful that staff would refill our water bottles with ice water for us before a day out as if it was nothing when actually it was a massive boon in 36°c heat. Staff stored our luggage for us after checkout and that was incredibly helpful too. Can't fault the service at the hotel, everyone was top tier. Location wise there is a bus route outside that goes to Reading centre/train station, a Lidl across the road for picnics and a field beside the hotel for a kick around if you take a ball.

  Terrible check-in as it took 45 minutes to get my room key as apparently my booking was on their old computer system! Rooms pretty good. Choice of pillow would have been nice. Hot shower. Comfy bed. Breakfast was good.

  The customer service is the best part about this hotel - all other areas are good so no complaints there- but the staff excelled. You can tell they care. Manel stands out. He was very thorough with my daughters allergies. He was also warm, caring and you can tell he genuinely enjoys what he does! Great experience overall!

  Hotel 4/5 overall. Clean, welcoming and helpful staff. In comparison to a similar purple chain there are some upgrades. You get very cool air out of these vents, the shower is better stocked with body wash and shampoo which were thick and soapy. Unlike its purple rival who only do a 5 in 1 type job which always seems to be tampered with and watered down. Now... onto the reason anyone writes a review is something rather irksome or just tickles a funny bone, mine is both. The bed, the sheets, the pillows. Not sure if I slept on a mattress or just the base divan. I have slept in bothies in Scotland on a roll matt with more give, if you know that ache in your ribs when you slept on the ground because of your own weight testing their structural integrity all night then you'll know what I mean. The pillows are either comparable to those giant clouds of vape the kids are making these days or a thin towel folded a few times and shoved in a pillowcase. Me and the missus got a king size bed with a double duvet shoved into a king size cover and she does love to burrito. Hats off to the staff though, I requested a single duvet for myself so I could lay on my slab with some warmth and it arrived soon after. Lastly, the toilet. It's clean and it works. I say works because it flushes but my usual morning routine of dropping the kids off and sending them on their way with some water boarding ended up being me just watching my kids float around while I sprinkled water on their heads with a button. Anyway, I digress. Writing this while she sleeps in, worst part is I have another night to do and I'm not going to make a fuss because I'm British and it could always be worse right?
