Hotel in major need of an update!
Arrived and checked in easy, went up to our room and the smell on entry hit you immediately.
Damp, mouldy smell! There were various mould patches throughout the room, the vent in the bathroom was thickly clogged which I wiped to reveal how thick it was with dust therefore not extracting any moisture and only adding to the smell. The AC was loud and also added to the smell, clearly in need on a service and filter change.
We asked reception if we could move rooms as our son has asthma and I was concerned about the dampness and the lovely lady said she would set another up for us (we needed the sofa bed)
After we returned from venturing off into town for some dinner she asked us to check the new room before moving our stuff. This room was worse however. Ground floor and obviously near a smoking area and the whole room smelt like an ashtray, the fan in the bathroom which automatically turns in with the light and runs for a while after was like a drill.
We returned to reception and apologised after her effort to set the room up it also was not up to scratch. However she had no other rooms available so back to mouldy room we went as the lesser of 2 evils. Mould v cigarette smoke and noise.
I apologised for wasting her time and that I appreciated her help, feeling like the awkward customer. Although we haven’t paid extensive amounts, cleanliness, and no risk to health are the bare minimum expected.
It’s clear it’s an older building but shame on Whitbread and Premier inn as a brand for allowing this facility to run down as much as it has.
The poor staff here must get complaints a lot however they are very polite and helpful. Kayleigh the receptionist done her best for us and I cannot fault her.
On a plus, the beds are comfortable.
1 star for the bed and 1 for the team.

Staff are all lovely. Let's get that right. Great people. No complaints on the awsome staff team.
But... location on next to a big Asda means it hard to even pull in and out of the carpark, the asda must be a busy one the flow of cars in and out is a nightmare.
Room was suitable for sleep, bed was ok tv worked.
. Air con that gargles and even drips...Bathroom needs a complete re fit.
Haven't seen a bathroom that rough in 20 years. Tired , and old.
I payed 266 for two nights here...its worth 60 a night in its current state. Just being honest.

Genuinely a really nice hotel to stay in. Staff were friendly and helpful, the room was spacious and we went during the heatwave so the air-conditioning unit was on all the time and we cooled right down. Within walking distance of KFC and Asda, all options were covered. My one criticism was that the breakfast isn't a buffet style and had to be ordered. When we have used Premier Inns around the country, usually you can head up as many times as needed, but an order needed to be made for breakfast each time. But the hotel itself was lovely.

This property feels more like a motel than a hotel. The room itself was clean, and the bed was comfortable. The staff were always courteous and friendly whenever we interacted with them.
However, the lack of basic hotel amenities was disappointing. There is no room service and no telephone in the room to contact reception if you need assistance. Every request requires a walk to reception, and on several occasions there was no one available there.
The restaurant is located separately from the hotel building. While the food was acceptable, it wasn't particularly memorable, and I would choose to dine elsewhere if given the option.
Hotel is conveniently placed around 20 mins drive from most tourist attractions in the area.
