  A perfect hotel for an overnight stay. The reception staff were superb — extremely personable, friendly and welcoming from the moment we arrived. They went above and beyond, especially when the weather turned into torrential rain. One of the reception staff kindly assisted my wife with an umbrella as she made her way to the car, which was a lovely touch and really showed how attentive the staff are. The breakfast was also lovely, with plenty of choice and everything we had was fresh and enjoyable. Overall, a fantastic stay and we would happily return. Highly recommended!

  I regularly use the gym and pool at this hotel, and I have to say, the facilities are excellent! The gym area is really well equipped, and the pool is a great place to relax. The staff Dan Diane and Ruben are always friendly, welcoming and incredibly helpful. A special shout-out to Nia, Julia and Charlie for always going above and beyond and making every visit such a great experience. Fantastic facilities and amazing staff — highly recommended! ⭐⭐⭐⭐

  Stay regularly for work. Rooms, staff, facilities are all good. Location works well as there is easy walking access to Ferry Meddows and the boating lake. Pool is nice, albeit can be a bit crowded as it is also for health club members. Staff have gone the extra mile for me at times which has been much appreciated.

  I stay here regularly for work and always have a pleasant experience with the whole team and experience. Nia, Julia, and Charlie on reception are always super welcoming and it’s nice to be remembered, especially travelling so often. In the restaurant, Henry, Chelsie, and Jack always offer a fantastic service, even remembering my order of a Diet Coke with a little bit of ice! Overall, a really good experience and always feel comfortable returning here.

  I was very disappointed with my stay at Holiday Inn Peterborough. There were two major issues which, in my opinion, are unacceptable for a hotel of this standard. Firstly, when I arrived at around 8:30pm, I was given a key to a room on the third floor. The key worked, I entered the room, and immediately realised that the room was already occupied. There were personal belongings inside, including gym bags, trainers and a personal bottle. This was not simply an inconvenience — it was a serious security and privacy failure. The occupants could easily have been inside the room, sleeping, changing or engaged in private activity. Equally, had anything subsequently gone missing, I could potentially have been accused of entering their room or taking something. The fact that a guest can be issued a working key to another guest’s occupied room is extremely concerning. To their credit, the reception staff were polite and moved me to another room. I was offered a complimentary drink and an upgrade which included a minibar. However, as a Muslim who does not drink alcohol, this was of very little benefit to me and did not really address the seriousness of what had happened. The second problem was with the replacement room. I had specifically booked a king-size bed, yet the upgraded room had two single beds pushed together. There was a noticeable ridge/unevenness where the beds joined, which made sleeping extremely uncomfortable. I only managed around 3–4 hours of sleep. For me, an “upgrade” should not mean receiving a worse sleeping arrangement than the king-size bed I originally paid for. The staff themselves were polite, but unfortunately that does not take away from the seriousness of being given access to an occupied guest’s room or the fact that the replacement accommodation did not match what I had booked. A very disappointing experience, particularly given the security implications of the first incident. :::
