Hotel is on the outskirts of Oxford, but an easy walk into town along the Thames Path (fine during daytime but I wouldn't risk it after dark). The bedroom was large and well equipped but the bathroom has seen better days. The bed was very comfortable.
Food and service were very good. All the staff are attentive and helpful - especially Izabela who reserved us a table and served us at dinner both evenings. The food exceeded my expectations - there was a huge choice at breakfast and and the evening set menu included in my hotel deal was well presented and good quality. I really enjoyed my stay and have no hesitation in recommending this hotel.

Repeated parking charge notices received after hosting friends for lunch at this hotel's restaurant.
I booked at the restaurant to host some friends who were staying at this hotel. After the lunch, when no staff member told me about registering my car registration and there were no signs in the car park, I received a £100 parking notice. I went through a long process through different departments at the hotel (reception, events, parking) shunted from pillar to post and eventually had the parking fine cancelled. Weeks later, today, I have just received another charge notice. When I called the events number again, I was told to go through the whole process again. No apology.
An update to my review....voco Oxford Spires replied to my google review with a response that I initially thought was a joke. The reply invited me to call the same telephone number that I have been calling for weeks, the one where you get shunted from department to department. No direction about a particular person to speak to or what specifically will be done to ensure the parking company algorithm won't generate more escalation notices. Then I realised, this is an AI generically generated response, a cynical way to give the impression of customer care. You have all my details, voco Spires, this is now the time for you to sort this out properly.

I’ve been a member of the Leisure centre for 18months now and really appreciate how professional all the staff are. Cat is often on duty when I go and he is always friendly, going out of his way to help me. I recommend the leisure centre membership to other people.

Beware on booking.com they don’t let you know you have to pay £25GPD for parking. We picked this place because it was out of town, on plenty of land, and said parking (not that you had to pay for it). Only after we booked we got an email saying we’d have to pay. We would have booked closer into town if we knew that. The fact they make you pay for this and then provide such little in room facilities, like what hotel doesn’t have a little fridge it’s 2026?

Conveniently located near a bus stop and also decent walking distance to the city center. Room was just fine, maybe somewhat dated but not terribly so. My room didn’t have any view really, and there were no upgrades available to me as an IHG Platinum Elite member, so that was a little disappointing. There was no fridge in the room by default, but the staff were able to bring one to me on request. The shower did not have a door, and the glass wall seemed not quite long enough, so some water would spray out of it, which was annoying. The pool, sauna, and steam room aren’t anything fancy, but they got the job done, and it was great that they are included with the stay. Daily parking rate is a bit steep at £25/day.
