  amazing day out! 🐟 went here with the family and they loved it, the animals look happy and well cared for and the staff are very informative and knowledgeable, we especially enjoyed the seal talk and feed! who knew seals had such personalities? on the way in you have the option to have your photograph taken with some props and poses which you can see and buy at the end, which is an amazing keepsake. would definitely reccomend checking out the gift shop on the way in or out too, amazing variety of nick nacks and toys!

  Exhibits and wildlife good, especially the penguins and seals. The pirate golf was also fun. We bought annual passes online as we only live 40 minutes away, so would get plenty of use. But the cafe area is a bit worse for wear, we went to the cafe about 3pm so quite but many dirty tables, staff don't seem bothered even though I asked for them to clear and clean a table. Not much variety of food wise so I tried the vegan hot dog and fries - the bun was more baguette bread so tough and the dog a bit dry. Around the self-serve drink and sauce area was dirty also. Plenty of cafe staff just don't seem bothered about cleanliness or customer satisfaction so we took our own food on the next visit.

  We visited SEA LIFE Scarborough as a family and, overall, it was a very mixed experience. We hit quite a bit of traffic on the way and were worried about arriving late for our booked time. I tried calling ahead but, despite being on the phone for over 20 minutes, nobody answered. When we arrived, I expected reception to be extremely busy, but there was nobody being served at the time, which made the lack of an answer even more frustrating. We also asked whether there were any maps or information leaflets available and were told they don't provide them. Thankfully, the actual SEA LIFE experience was wonderful. There was plenty to see, the exhibits were enjoyable, and our little one absolutely loved walking around and seeing all the different sea life. This was easily the highlight of our visit and, up until we stopped at the café, we were having a great day. Unfortunately, the café really let the whole experience down. My partner joined the queue with only two people ahead of her, neither of whom appeared to be placing particularly large orders, yet she was waiting around 30 minutes to be served. Considering how quiet the café was, this seemed ridiculous. The cleanliness was also very poor. Our table was covered in a sticky mess and I ended up having to clean it myself. Again, the café wasn't busy, so there didn't seem to be any reason for tables to have been left in that condition. More seriously, when my partner was handed her coffee, the lid hadn't been fitted properly. Boiling hot coffee spilled out and burnt her hand. What concerned us most was that the member of staff didn't appear to offer any immediate assistance after seeing what had happened. My partner was in considerable pain, so I spoke to someone who appeared to be a manager. I was told our options were either a refund for the coffees or they could get a first-aid box. Given that a customer had just been burnt by a hot drink, I expected the situation to be handled with considerably more care and urgency. After all that, the coffee itself wasn't particularly good either. It's a real shame because the aquarium itself was fantastic and our child had a brilliant time. The exhibits and sea life would have earned a much higher rating from us, but the café experience, cleanliness, slow service and handling of the hot-drink incident brought the overall visit down considerably. A great attraction for the sea life itself, but the café and customer service need serious improvement.

  Fabulous aquarium, all the animals are beautifully kept and clean with lots of enrichment in their enclosures. The seals apparently adore all the attention! 5 Stars to staff member Alex who was doing various feeding slots and sealife demonstrations, they were charismatic, very friendly and professional and exceptionally knowledgeable about all the animals and the centre, able to answer every question in detail and had clearly developed a lovely bond with the Seals who were very fond. Unfortunately the food available in the cafe let's the center down , it's a very basic tiny 'menu' and lack lustre offerings, I will certainly visit Scarborough SeaLife again, I just won't eat there again!

  I’ve been coming to the Sea Life since my eldest now 12 was a toddler and sadly I think it’ll be the last time I visit despite having smaller children now. The whole place just seemed smaller on our last visit. There seemed to be a very small number of Rays in the first pool, the Penguin pool was almost inaccessible while they were being fed and the bloke feeding them wasn’t wearing a mic so you couldn’t hearing him unless you were stood in front of him, I didn’t see any times for any interactions with the Seals, the Otters were nowhere to be seen and the Sea Turtle must have passed too as she was no longer in the tunnel tank. If you’ve got very small children and you want to support a local cause it’s not a bad hours worth of a wonder but my 6 and 8 year old were pretty underwhelmed. Oh and speaking of small children, leave the buggy in the car, it just isn’t accessible where pushchairs are concerned.
