Located in three iconic triangular buildings on the North Bay in Scarborough, you can get closer than ever before to some of the most fascinating marine creatures on earth during a trip to SEA LIFE Scarborough. Learn how to waddle with adorable Humboldt penguins at your feet, come face-to-fin in a shark encounter and visit the years' rehabilitating seal pups in Yorkshire's only seal hospital. With 1,000's of creatures in over 50 indoor and outdoor displays, there is something for everyone, at SEA LIFE Scarborough.
Expensive but that's probably perfectly justifiable in terms of underlying costs. It's well maintained and provides an excellent exposition of life in the oceans of our planet. Kids will love feeding times, particularly at the penguin enclosure. It was quite busy at the time of our family visit and elbow room was a bit of problem. Disabled access was notably lacking.

We had a brilliant visit to SEA LIFE Scarborough and really enjoyed the whole experience from start to finish.
One of the highlights for us was the talk on the seals. It was genuinely interesting, well delivered and gave us a much better understanding of the work that goes into caring for and rehabilitating them. It added a lot more meaning to the visit, rather than it just being a case of walking around and looking at the animals.
We were also really impressed by the variety of sea life on offer. There was much more to see than we expected, from the seals and penguins through to sharks, rays, jellyfish, seahorses, tropical fish and rockpool creatures. The different areas all offered something slightly different, so the visit kept our attention throughout and never felt repetitive.
The Tropical Ocean Tunnel was another standout part of the day. Being able to walk through and see the marine life moving around you makes the whole thing feel much more immersive. It is the sort of feature that works well for both children and adults because there is plenty to look at, but it also feels calm and memorable.
What we liked most was that the visit felt both enjoyable and educational. The talks and displays helped explain more about the animals, their habitats and the conservation work behind the scenes, which made the experience feel worthwhile as well as fun.
Overall, SEA LIFE Scarborough was a really enjoyable day out. There is a good mix of indoor and outdoor areas, a wide variety of creatures to see, and enough information throughout to make it interesting without feeling overwhelming.
We left feeling like we had learned something, seen plenty and had a lovely time. We would definitely recommend it.

A great place to visit, visited during a teacher training day (Monday) and we really enjoyed our visit. All the staff were friendly. A well looked after and clean place to visit. Check out the times at the front desk for the talks on different animals at different locations on site, we especially loved hearing about the seals and the cheeky Steven SeaGull that stole there fish dinners! Will visit again! Right on the sea front too

Visited today. Very clean and well looked after but we took our time and still managed to get all the way round, including the gift shop in 45 mins. Very disappointed at how quickly we got round. We much preferred "The Deep " in Hull. Much more to see and takes a lot longer to get round. I'm not saying that Sea Life is not a nice and well looked after place but we much preferred the other place. This is just our personal opinion, other may say different.
