Usual good standard for Premier Inn. The staff were typically friendly and helpful. Went out of their way to make it easier for us.
Situated in easy drive to Pickering center. Very clean and tidy throughout. Lovely location.
Food to a good level as well. Again staff attentive and efficient. Always clearing and cleaning as well as making sure guests were looked after.
Ample parking in well kept carpark. Lit well on a night time so felt very secure and safe. It could not be easier to register car number plate.

This weekend was a special one. It was our ittle boys 9th birthday. For his birthday he wanted a weekend at Flamingo land!
We live in South Derbyshire so this was quite a drive and having family also coming for the weekend, from Staffordshire and Yorkshire. we needed a base. Somewhere for a family mea on the Saturday evening and a good night's sleep ready to get back in the park on the Sunday and do it all again.
Having used Premier Inn many times in the past, I decided Premier Inn Pickering was the place. At this point, I didnt know how wrong could be.
During the day at Flamingo land, a member of the team called me to book us in for dinner. I was asked a time to dine. My reply was, " We are currently at Flamingo land so I expect between 6.30pm and 7pm." Not knowing at that point what time we would leave the park. The team member replied, "Thats no problem."
At that, I thought nothing more of it, let the rest of the party know and carried on with our day.
On Arrival. the check in service is fully automated, vou have to do it all yourself using a kiosk. Thats fine for me. but would of been a nightmare for my partner who is disabled and has Functional Neurological Disorder. There were no staff in sight. This would become a pattern.
I checked us in and we headed to our room. All seemed well, until my partner went to use the bathroom. There was somebody's Urine all over the toilet seat. back of the toilet and on the floor at the rear of the toilet. Dark vellow splashes everywhere. She was mortified. I took a photo and said I'd let reception know when we went down for dinner.
We got down to dinner at 7pm. Some of our party were already there, had been since 6.50pm. There was a member of staff at the bar who I quietlv informed about the state of our bathroom, showing her the photo. Shesaid it was shocking and would get it cleaned while we were at dinner.
We then, as a group presented to be seated The same girl then walks from the bar to the restaurant. There she proceeds to tell us we are late. As we are late. we would now have to wait until 8pm. The time is now 7.05pm. I had booked for 6.30-7pm. But she insisted whoever called me had plopped us in for 6.45pm which was half way between. Then failed to tell me this.
She wouldn't budge. Kept calling us late. Late for a booking of 6.45pm that I didnt make. I explained I had agreed a slot, not a time. She blamed the girl that booked us in, but that somehow became our problem because of their incompetence.
She then proceeded to ask if we'd like a list of local takeaways. Shocking. I asked to speak to the manager.
20 minutes later the manager arrived. I explained and she was vert sympathetic, but didnt fix anything. She admitted they were in the wrong, but couldn't fix the issue as it would overwhelm the kitchen. Unbelievable. Again, their incompetence, becomes our problem. I further raised the state of the bathroom and she agreed to refund the cost of the stay.
We find a local restaurant who can accommodate us all at short notice and head out. On returning we have a few drinks in the bar, then being totally exhausted head to our rooms. Its now around 10.30pm
1 hour later, we are woken up by what we can onlv describe as a herd of elephants running around in the room above. It was the last thing we needed. Eventually it stopped and we got back to sleep. 12.30am Banging again. This time it sounded like the police were putting in someone's door. It was super loud, echoed through the whole hotel. My partner and son were terrified. Eventually it stopped and we got back to sleep.
On going down to breakfast, I spoke to the other member's of our party and they had heard exactly the same. It had woke them also. They were on separate floors to us, one on ground, one on 2nd. What was going on at this place??
Before checking out, I again spoke to a member of staff about the noises and the refund who assured me it would be done automatically. Still nothing.
I genuinely will avoid Premier Inn going forwards. They are not the perfect nights sleep.
Avoid at all cost.
