Sadly not the best experience we’ve had at a Premier Inn.A lovely location and a nice manager . The menu looked good but the dining itself wasn’t good. To start with the chef had long hair which wasn’t tied back, he was eating his own meal at the serving hatching wearing the same gloves he was handling customer food with and was very distracted and spent most of the time on his phone watching Football or rugby by the sound of it.
We ordered 4 small bites options as mains for 2 of us and 2 burger meals for the other two In our party and asked for it all to come out together. Light bites came out before burger meals had been even started. The manager did give us a complimentary round of drinks which was appreciated, one burger came out wrong so it was another 20 minutes before my son got his meal by which time the rest of us had finished. Not like they were rushed off their feet.
The room was unbearably too hot so non of us slept all night.

These 2 stars are for the lovely man booking us in yesterday. Unfortunately the same can’t be said for the bar staff in the evening. Me and a party of 10 people had arrived after work for a couple of drinks at the bar. Had our first drink no problem then at 10.30 went to get a second only to be told that the bar had closed. We were literally sat 2 metres away and it was never mentioned that they had last service so early. Then told we needed to vacate the area about 10 mins later. Maybe just a heads up or a sign would be great. Also going round spraying neat bleach right next to us which made my eyes sting is probably not the best when people are trying to sit and enjoy a quiet drink too.

Very warm welcome and staff was super kind, evening receptionist was helpful and attentive as well as the manager Tim attending to guests quickly. Nice and clean room to boot and a very quiet sleep despite being next to the train station. Breakfast seemed better than previous stays at other locations. I will be very pleased to stay again on my next Harrogate trip!

This a nice quiet location, rooms fine and some being upgraded. What makes it is the staff. The manager, a young man called Tim is a very conscientious hardworking guy. His manner with guests is very respectful and accommodating. I am a wheelchair user and he was always available, friendly, interesting to talk to and would do whatever he cpuld for you, including moving me to another room when there were some excessively noisy guests above me. I requested the move because sometimes people are just inadvertently load and maybe not aware.
Tim's professional manner rubs off on the other staff too from Simkn, Ruth and all the others Conduct themselves in a quiet humble efficient and professional manner. Ive staid in a lot of hotels, from exclusive to bargain basement and this is as near perfection for staff of all the rest. A real gem.

Checked in to find the room at 28°C whilst it was only 18 outside. The sun was blasting directly into the room and there was only a small little fan, whose maximum setting was on a par with the Dyson AirFlow's minimum setting unfortunately.
I asked reception if they could facilitate a room change to the other side of the corridor and they did, putting me in a room at 23°C - much better and very kind of them!
However even with the window open throughout the whole stay, and the fan on, the temp never dropped below 22°C. There was a second very small fan, but the shell and the fan was covered in dust and I knew if I switched it on I'd end up coating the room with it.
Unfortunately the bathroom tap in this room (208) would only throw out hot water, with the cold only dripping out slowly, which was disappointing in this weather.
But honestly I can't fault the staff here. They were great, patient and accomodating - it's just not a hotel suitable for the warm weather. I understand an old building can't be retrofitted with air con, and that buying a top of the range fan for every room would be an enormous expense so it's hard to be a critic. I otherwise had a pretty comfy night!
