  Avoid this place if you expect basic respect. I had a deeply upsetting experience at Holiday Inn Northampton West. During dinner service, a staff member spoke to me in a completely unprofessional and degrading manner and called me “childish” in front of others. This was humiliating, unnecessary, and felt like outright bullying. What is even more concerning is the attitude of staff — instead of resolving issues or supporting residents, they make you feel like the problem. This raises serious concerns about how people are treated here. As a transgender/non-binary person, this experience was even more distressing. Being spoken to in this way created a hostile and uncomfortable environment, and I did not feel respected or safe. This is not the standard you would expect from a hotel under a major brand. Staff behaviour like this should not be tolerated. I have made a formal complaint, but others should be aware of how poorly guests/residents can be treated here. Very disappointing experience.

  We stayed at the Holiday Inn whilst visiting friends and attending a wedding. The location is very nice and the hotel is easy to find and access. There's plenty of parking and the car parks are well maintained. Reception staff were very friendly and helpful and dressed very smartly which made a good first impression. I was disappointed to note that there is no security on the door accessing the sleeping area of the hotel so anyone could walk in and gain access, although all of the rooms require electronic keys to open. The room itself was a reasonable size and simply decorated although there were scuff marks on the walls. One of the lamps didn't work in the room and the TV remote was missing it's battery cover so the batteries could easily have fallen out. One of the curtains was partly hanging off the rail and there were hairs from a previous occupant on the floor. The ensuite bathroom was a pretty good size and the tiles were clean with no signs of mould although there was some discoloration in the grout in the shower. Unfortunately the toilet seat hadn't been cleaned properly and the previous occupant obviously couldn't aim very well! I have to be honest and admit I didn't report the cleanliness problems so I can't comment on how the hotel would have dealt with them. I felt it was easier and quicker to clean myself. At least that way I knew a decent job was being done. Breakfast was disappointing. To begin with there was no information on how breakfast worked and no staff to be able to ask. The continental breakfast consisted of cereal and yoghurt and that was it! Now this might be due to Covid but it was a little uninspiring. As to the cooked breakfast the bacon was over cooked and very hard. The sausages were like cardboard, the mushrooms like bullets, the hash browns were soft and undercooked whilst the scrambled egg was awful, the beans were ok. To make it worse the walls were covered in the remains of other people's meals and the tables weren't getting wiped down between guests. Tables were also very close together in places despite the hotel having lots of signs to maintain social distancing. Breakfast on Saturday was marginally better as the food wasn't quite as bad although it was still far from good. There were also more staff and tables were getting cleaned and reset intermittently. Overall I was very disappointed with the Holiday Inn it certainly wasn't up to the standards I've experienced in Premier Inns and I won't be rushing to book a Holiday Inn in the future.

  Would be 4 stars but useless booking system via it's call centre. It does the job but I found booking a room an issue! I found it easier driving there to book rather than using it's call centre (the call centre couldn't book if you had an offer code). Once there good helpful friendly staff (they can teach it's call centre a few lessons!) Rooms good. Breakfast very good - 5 stars

  This hotel makes you realise that the star rating is very inaccurate. Friendly and helpful, comfortable and clean, highly recommended
