Brilliant location. We went to the Crick show, this hotel is only a few minutes drive away. Lots of lawned grounds for dogs, across the quiet road, a huge park with a lake. Met lots of joggers, walkers and dogs.
Our premium double bed x 2 was very comfortable. Great shower, lots hot water. Views across to majestic trees, bit of road noise, I admit, but it didn't really bother us. (In case you are a light sleeper Room 106)
Staff were friendly and helpful. Had dinner on our first night, vegetarian curry, delish. Breakfast is great, lots to choose from, piping hot, hot plates, lovely smart, spotlessly clean dining room, staff worked hard. Only thing for us was that although there were several meat options, sausages, bacon, etc, there were no Quorn, Linda McCartney sausages. We were offered onion and potato in breadcrumbs. However, regardless, the breakfast was delicious! Lovely coffee too.
And a great plus is that go a mile or so beyond, come to a roundabout with lots of office buildings, tucked in there is a fabulous, beautiful pub right on the river Nene. The Britannia, it's gorgeous!! We only had nibbles and drinks but the food being served looked delicious, plus very pet friendly too.
Highly recommend if you're in the area, stay at the Holiday Inn and visit the pub!!!! If you wonder why I've taken a photo of the condiments my SIL loves Stokes's!!!
