Great hotel, with good service and low cost for Bristol. The receptionist saw we had a dog (dog friendly £20 extra fee) and offered us a downstairs room. The room was very spacious and clean. It was quiet in the room, even at night with the window ajar.

So the company i work for uses this firm for bulk bookings as they must be getting a good deal in regards to this arrangement. Fair enough but here are the reasons why it's the worst place I have ever stayed. The air con for rooms does not work. I asked reception why, they said it hadn't worked in 3 years. Condiments for bathroom, for the bathroom? Hand wash for the shower, as body wash unavailable. Breakfast is always cold from buffet. Granted they can microwave it for you, but other places I have resided, they have lids covering the breakfast buffet. Talking of that, no tomato ketchup for two days to accompany a breakfast, but plenty of bbq sauce. Also breakfast time, when I went to sit down, I got asked for my room number, but was asked to pay 11.99 as I wasn't registered as a guest, but my room mate was already eating breakfast before me without this problem. An apology was granted to me shortly after. I could go on. Oh, the main kitchen chef looked like he hated his life.

Was very sceptical before arriving but was pleasantly surprised! Lovely twin room clean and tidy Staff pleasant and welcoming My only negative is no AC and it was uncomfortably hot. I slept eventually but my daughter didn’t. I would use it again tho

The room I checked into was a very good size and quite clean. However, there was mold on the bathroom ceiling. Also when I took a shower the water was not draining. On opening the cover on the drain I noticed a lot of strands of hair in there. Given I was traveling with my pregnant wife and 4 year old daughter(who has mild asthma), that was not good. I told the receptionist in the morning and she made a note of the issues and moved us to a new room right away. The service is sometimes really good but not all the time. The first night when I was at the hotel I went to ask for some ice at reception. Nobody was at the desk at it was only around 930pm. A couple of other guests came to the 24/7 bar at the same time. We were made to wait 5 minutes. While we were waiting I could see one of the receptionists sitting in the office and he looked at all of us multiple times. After he came out the office he said sorry I was in a meeting. In a hotel, serving the guests is supposed to be the most important thing. He could have come out straight away and gave the other guests their drinks and sorted out my ice and then go back to his meeting. The staff are friendly and helpful but I think the hotel's issues are due to bad management. Rooms should always be cleaned thoroughly and serviced should always be top priority.
