  The best premier inn in the country! I've stayed in loads and Berwick-upon-tweed is by far the best, most friendly and welcoming place I've been.

  Paid extra for a premier plus room because it has air conditioning. On arrival, the hallway and the room were like an oven. The air conditioning also wasn’t powerful and had very little cool air. The lowest temperature you could set was 19 degrees. The windows were sealed shut - not able to open any. When we tried to sleep, it was so warm that we couldn’t sleep. We asked the reception and they said the air conditioning needed updating and gave us a fan. What’s the point of paying extra for the room if we need a fan? When we filed a complaint, the response was that they had sent an email before arrival to inform about the air conditioning issue so they will not compensate on this occasion which was a complete lie. We never received such an email. When we told them we didn’t receive it, they completely ghosted and never replied anymore. Premier inn surely has money to have functioning air conditioning but they wouldn’t do it and denied compensation when we paid almost £200 for two nights. We stayed at another premier inn later on who was more honest about the air con issues - they admitted that over night they do turn it off. My guess is to save money. But that makes complete no sense especially people need it the most when sleeping. Premier inn really needs to sort this out! Do not book if you want to sleep in your own sweats!!! Bear in mind this was in March - cannot imagine how much worse it could be in the summer!!!!!

  Best premier inn I've ever stayed at. Everything was premier inn quality which is great but what makes this one stand out is the staff. They are so friendly and welcoming. We bought a card game from a very well stocked games/book stand that they have for charity and we have a good laugh with one of the ladies on shift about the card game and who was winning. The staff are a credit to this premier inn and we will definitely be back! Can also recommend Amrans Indian restaurant at the top of the hill, absolutely delicious!

  Never had a bad experience here. Friendly, great location, terrific sleep quality, great breakfast...what's not to like. Been many times, and will come back many times. Very highly recommended.
