Thou we had a bit upset at beginning of our stay regards room being ready it was sorted and offer a free breakfast next day which we accepted. Room were nice and comfortable. Staff were nice and polite. Breakfast was good. Lovely sitting outside watching the ducks and people on the river in Norwich and central to train station. Shame this one is due to be pulled down. Will be missed.

Premier Inn always emails you after a stay to ask how things went. Nationwide they're pretty reliable for what they are, but occasionally you explain where things were sub-par and, of course, never hear form them again. So I guess all they're trying to do is dissuade people from sharing their experiences more widely.
We stay here in Norwich 3-4 times a year, and have done for the last 12-14 years. They have certainly spent money on the place over that time, but that never seems to translate into a better experience. I still say that Premier Inn's decline began when they got rid of the fabulous 'Lenny' beds and the 'good night guarantee'.
Anyway, no signage on the 2nd Floor, to help you decide which direction to head when you come out of the lift. Entirely ineffective mechanical air movement (it's definitely not air conditioning!) that is so noisy, even on low, that'll it ensue you don't sleep a wink. Winter weight duvets when it's over 30 degrees (and over 20 degrees at night). A horrible smell of drains from the bathroom sink. The (Premium?) wifi barely reached the southern end of the hotel, and the code I'd received for booking a Premier Plus room didn't work anyway, so no wifi.
We don't normally have breakfast in a Premier Inn due to the poor quality, but had it bundled in this time in a special offer. I know they've applied several price cuts to the breakfast in recent times, but even free it was a grim experience I regretted taking.
Imogen on reception was the standout gem: calm and efficient.

This was an old 70s or 80s hotel converted then expanded into a larger Premier Inn. It was the cheapest in Norwich, mainly due to its outdated shabby appearance, although the facilities and staffing are good. It's central location is the main benefit.

Great central location near to the station. The room we had was clean, comfortable a good size, with a balcony (overlooking a car park) but was a long way from reception, the furthest possible! Unfortunately, the WiFi did not work there (& a few other rooms, apparently, (from conversations at reception)).
Corridors & public areas look tired, and parts of the breakfast room are dingy (others, by the windows, overlook a river.. nice!)
Okay for a quick stay, as parking (extra) to the rear
