Soak up Newcastle's rich shipping history at the Premier Inn Newcastle Quayside hotel. With stunning views over the River Tyne, this Grade 2 listed building is in an ideal spot for getting the most out of the city. Explore Newcastle's most popular bars and restaurants or get a taste of the local music culture at the iconic Sage Gateshead. Sports fans can watch a match at St James Park or at the Stadium of Light in neighbouring Sunderland. After a fun day out in Newcastle, you can head back for a tasty meal at our in-house Thyme restaurant before relaxing on an extra-comfy bed. As well as being a landmark of the city, the iconic Tyne Bridge is also home to a large flock of breeding Kittiwakes and - as our hotel is close by to the bridge - it's worth noting that some noise disturbance may be heard in the bedrooms.

Stayed here recently and unfortunately can’t recommend it based on cleanliness. There was hair and dirt in the bathtub and the water didn’t drain properly. The room overall felt dirty, and there was a noticeable smell throughout the hotel. Reception was also frequently unstaffed. On the plus side, the staff I did interact with were friendly, but that wasn’t enough to offset the hygiene issues. If cleanliness is a priority for you, I’d look elsewhere.

Before you book PLEASE READ THIS If you plan on showering here be careful. When I got in the shower the water can be either ice cold or burning hot. When I was showering something would make weird screeching noises then the water would turn boiling hot for 10 sec then ice cold for 5 sec and go back to original temperature. This would happen every 5 minutes. Bathroom is also way too small. HOWEVER, the food is good and so is the service. Im very dissapointed though.

Ideal location, car parking under hotel at £13.20 a night, bar and restaurant, right in centre of Newcastle. Nice view of Tyne bridge out of window.

We stayed at this Premier Inn for the weekend because we were attending a family wedding. Friday night me and my partner hardly had any sleep. There were kids staying at the hotel due to a football tornament and all they were doing is running along the corridors and banging about above us. At first i thought they were going to cave in on us. I mentioned it to hotel staff the next morning at breakfast. They couldnt apologise enough.

I'd strongly advise against this hotel if you have issues with noise. Despite its central location, they have not installed double-glazing on the windows, which means you can hear every noise from the road. Moreover, the hotel is right next to the Tyne Bridge, which is home to a colony of nesting seabirds. These birds are loud and squawk well into the night. As a result, I had a bad night's sleep. Otherwise, it was a typical Premier Inn.
