  The hotel was in a prime position for visiting the area as we had never visited before. The food was excellent. We had breakfast each day and 2 evening meals. Very fresh and well cooked. Plenty of choice. The quilt cover had a couple of tears in it. When we asked for a clean all we got was a fresh set of towels no cleaning done apart from the bin emptied . Very friendly staff who were weee very helpful. Easy enough to get supplies of tea coffee etc for the toom

  Great place, very friendly and helpful staff. Pillows were like concrete though and there was no hairdryer in one of our rooms.

  Very disappointing stay – and now being ignored by Premier Inn We stayed at Premier Inn Alnwick for one night while travelling to the Isle of Skye with our children, and unfortunately it was a really disappointing experience. The main problem was the room at night. The mattress/bed became unbearably hot and, with no ability to open the windows to get some fresh air, we had an extremely uncomfortable night and very little sleep. This was particularly difficult when Alnwick was an overnight stop on a very long journey to the Isle of Skye. My six-year-old daughter was also sick during the night, which obviously made an already difficult night even worse. We also experienced electrical issues in the room, adding to the feeling that this simply wasn’t the standard we normally expect from Premier Inn. What has disappointed me most, however, is how the complaint has been handled afterwards. Premier Inn heavily advertises its Good Night Guarantee, so I contacted them under that guarantee following our stay. That was over 12 days ago and I have received no substantive response at all. I appreciate that problems can occur in any hotel, and I wouldn’t normally leave a poor review simply because something went wrong. What matters is how a company responds when it does. Unfortunately, being ignored for nearly two weeks after specifically contacting Premier Inn under a guarantee that is supposed to reassure customers has left an even worse impression than the stay itself. We certainly didn’t have a good night’s sleep, which is precisely what Premier Inn’s guarantee is supposed to cover. I would therefore have expected, at the very least, the courtesy of a response. A very disappointing experience both during the stay and afterwards.
