On the shore of the Firth of Forth, Queensferry is situated ten miles to the north of Edinburgh. So the Premier Inn Hotel Edinburgh (South Queensferry) is the ideal base for venturing into Scotland's first city, or for exploring the majestic landscape of the Lothians. Queensferry has some puzzling traditions, like the procession of the Burry Man and the annual dip in the Firth of Forth. But there are plenty of other things to do, such as a visit to the Georgian splendour of Hopetoun House or Dundas Castle. There are lots of business venues and good transport links. Once you're done for the day, come back to great food at our Brewers Fayre restaurant and a lovely comfy bed.

We have been regular Premier Inn customers for many years, but this was unfortunately our worst experience.
We booked four rooms and noticed an unpleasant smell in the hotel corridor upon arrival. The rooms had poor ventilation and stale air. One room had a very strong sweat smell from the mattress, which affected our sleep. Although the hotel arranged a room move after we reported it, the overall experience was disappointing.
We also found that some towels had an unpleasant sour smell, raising concerns about housekeeping standards.
After contacting customer service, the response was mainly a standard apology and that the matter would be passed internally. However, we hope the hotel will take practical action, including reviewing room inspections and cleaning procedures, rather than simply recording the feedback.
We are sharing this review because we hope the issue will be taken seriously and improved for future guests.
Thank you for your response. However, I have already contacted Guest Relations and provided full details of my experience. After the investigation, I was simply told that my feedback would be passed to the hotel management for internal review.
As a customer, I have not seen any specific follow-up action or explanation of how the issues will be addressed. I hope Premier Inn can go beyond a standard response and take practical steps to review its housekeeping, room inspection and ventilation standards.

Ive used this PI before and it was fine - the standard 'you know what you're getting' stuff. However, this will be my last time here.
When i checked in, the lady on the desk literally handed me the room key and went back to what she was doing. I wasn't told where the room was or what floor until I looked and asked. Bear in mind, I had my daughter with me and luggage. No info on breakfast or in fact about anything. Get to the room and find that there is tupperware on top of the hanging unit, the tea tray is floating in water, there is hair and plastic bottle parts in the bath and on the side of it. Then I go to open my bag and see the floor next to it hasn't been hoovered, there is plastic sticky labels on the floor. By this point I'm frustrated beyond belief. Not to mention there is only one plug by the bed.
There is a fan.in the room with a rather aggressive note - don't steal it or if you do, the police will get involved.
I look past this after a super long day and just want a shower and bed. I rinse the shower myself and then whilst I'm stood in it, the temperature fluctuates between scalding and freezing for the entire time. When I get out, I notice the holder for the hand soap is rusty and somehow, a plastic bottle is also rusty. Then I try drying my hair. The hairdryer only works if you're under 4ft as the cable is a hidden plug and faulty - it turns off at the slightest pull on a spiral cord.
At this point, I realise i have left something in the car so head to get it. As I go through reception, I have a chat to the lady behind the desk to say how awful the room is. She says she will note the complaint but there is no one here who can do anything so we just have to sleep in it. Absolutely disgusting. I was about to say that it was late and not to worry trying to sort it, but she didn't even bother. I am appalled at the state of this place. I definitely wont be coming back and if the staff continue to be this rude, I doubt anyone else will either. Stay away - pay slightly more for a better hotel than this. Do not waste your money.
