Almost everything about this hotel was great- we got a (slight) room upgrade, the sofa bed was made up for our arrival, the hotel was air conditioned throughout, the food at the bar was fine and typical airport hotel prices (dinner & drinks for 3 was the same as the room rate lol), everything was clean… EXCEPT, and this is a big deal, the AC is programmed to turn off at night, during a record setting heat wave, so I woke up sweltering hot twice to turn it back on. The only reason to get a hotel at the airport is for a restful night before or after travel and this practice absolutely ruined that for us. Let the customers decide what is comfortable for us to sleep! The AC didn’t turn off at all from when we got there at 6pm till we went to bed at 11. But I woke up hot at 1am and at 5am, and both times the AC had turned itself off. A previous review mentioned this and the manager responded as if it were a mechanical failure. Clearly it’s not.

We chose the Holiday Inn Heathrow for its convenience and excellent value, knowing that after an overnight flight with our four-year-old son and a four-hour drive ahead of us, staying overnight before travelling home would be the best option. It turned out to be one of the best decisions we could have made. From the moment we arrived, the hotel exceeded our expectations. The facilities were excellent, the location was ideal, and every member of staff we encountered was warm, welcoming, and genuinely eager to help. Nothing was too much trouble, and every request was met with a smile and a willingness to assist. A particular highlight of our stay was breakfast. The selection was outstanding, with a wide variety of fresh, high-quality options to suit every taste. What made the experience truly exceptional, however, was the wonderful service provided by Daljeet. She went above and beyond to ensure our four-year-old had everything he needed, taking the time to choose some delights for him from the breakfast options and making him feel incredibly special. The thoughtful goody bag she prepared for him to take away was such a kind gesture and perfectly reflected her caring nature. Daljeet is an absolute credit to the hotel. Her warmth, attentiveness, and genuine kindness made our stay even more memorable, and she played a huge part in turning a great experience into an exceptional one. We will definitely be choosing the Holiday Inn Heathrow again whenever we fly from Heathrow. For convenience, facilities, service, amenities, and value for money, it simply cannot be beaten. Highly recommended.

Dear Guest Relations Team, I am writing to share both a sincere compliment and a formal concern regarding my breakfast experience at the hotel this morning. As a cabin crew member, I understand better than most the challenges of working in customer-facing roles. I appreciate how demanding hospitality and service professions can be, and I always try to approach staff with kindness, patience, and understanding. It is precisely because of my professional background that I find discourteous service particularly difficult to overlook. When I arrived for breakfast this morning, the restaurant was largely empty. I was the first of four colleagues to arrive, and before taking a seat I asked a member of staff, Meme, whether I could sit at a table for four as my colleagues would be joining me shortly. She kindly and willingly assured me that this would be absolutely fine. A few moments later, however, the host approached me and informed me, in a manner I found unnecessarily abrupt and authoritative, that I was not permitted to sit there because I was alone and that I must move to a small single table in the corner. I politely explained that my colleagues were due to arrive imminently and that I had already checked this arrangement with Meme. Despite this explanation, the host continued to insist that I move. What upset me most was not the request itself, but the manner in which it was delivered. From the moment I arrived, the host appeared cold and unwelcoming. Even after I greeted her with a cheerful “Good morning”, the greeting was not acknowledged. Throughout our interaction, her tone felt dismissive, unfriendly, and unnecessarily confrontational. Fortunately, my colleagues arrived at that moment, and the matter ended there. However, the interaction left me feeling uncomfortable and unwelcome, which is disappointing in a hotel of this standard. In complete contrast, I would like to express my heartfelt appreciation for Meme. From the very beginning, she was warm, professional, accommodating, and genuinely eager to help. Throughout breakfast, she continued to look after our table with exceptional attentiveness and kindness. I had the distinct impression that she sensed my discomfort following the earlier interaction and made a special effort to ensure that we were well cared for. Meme demonstrated exactly the sort of hospitality that guests remember long after their stay has ended. She is a credit to your hotel and deserves recognition for the outstanding service she provided. While I hope my comments regarding the host will be received constructively, I genuinely believe she would benefit from further customer service training, particularly in relation to communication, courtesy, and guest engagement. No guest should feel spoken to in such a dismissive or intimidating manner. Please extend my sincere thanks to Meme for her professionalism and kindness. Her excellent service transformed what could have been a very negative experience into one that I will remember far more positively. Thank you for taking the time to read my feedback. Yours faithfully. -Ms. Hong

I must share of an incredible experience that I had at the Holiday Inn London - Heathrow. We had one bad thing happen after the next with traveling and unexpectedly had to have an overnight in London with a flight going out the next afternoon. We were tired, stressed and at our witz end. We arrived at the Holiday Inn and were treated like royalty by ALL who worked here. I am sorry I don't remember the front desk lady who checked us in but she was so so kind and even gave my son a little welcome gift. He felt so good about this as he was such a good kid through all of our traveling hardships. They quickly learned that we needed the couch bedding put on for my son and sent someone to the room immediately to complete this. This man lovingly put the bed together and was very efficient. Then the next morning the staff was incredibly nice and greeted us at breakfast with smiles and clear instructions. The wait staff was incredible and made small talk with us and helped us feel so welcomed. They again gave my son a little gift, this time a departing gift with snacks and little puzzles to keep him occupied. The wait staff at breakfast were Memé, Katya and Julinda. Please reward your incredible staff for their hospitality and kindness. It made all the difference to us during stressful travel.

This was my third stay at this hotel. The first two I couldn't fault, however, this one was a very different experience. We arrived late and were given a room. Upon entry it smelt musty so we went and asked for another. Once we got into that room my bed had been laid on the pillow used as there was evidence someone had laid on it and the remote was on the bed. I asked for a new pillow and received two cushions, not pillows, so removed the pillow case on the cushion on out it on the used pillow. The next morning we went to breakfast, there were no large plates available, no cutlery on the table and we were less than impressed with the service. The following morning at breakfast there were no beans, no oat milk, no hash browns and I had no cutlery again. We mentioned this to one of the staff Meme. She was wonderful she asked if there were any beans for us, which there weren't. She asked what we would like in place and delivered a few things to our table to 'make up' for our disappointment. She was really lovely and I remember her from a previous visit going above and beyond. This made us feel better about the whole experience. The staff did accommodate a late check out which you have to pay for but its not exorbitant and worth it when you have a 10pm flight! I would stay again as the showers and brilliant and hotel clean with a bus stop out front. I would just hope for a better experience than my last.
