Stayed there from June 21-27 during the heatwave and the AC was broken...No problem, then during my 2nd last night a guy wearing a white tank top offered to fill up our water bottle using the tap. I refused because I wanted water from the vase with lemons. Then he threatened me by saying he would not give me ice unless I let him fill it up from the tap. Then he called me inconsiderate for the other guest for taking out of the vase, even though thats easily from the tap too. I then proceeded to tell him that I paid over $1000 to stay in this hotel and Im going to use the free water! Then he asked where Im from and proceeded to say the Canadian dollar is weak thats why I paid $1000. RUDE WORKER...

Staff were excellent very friendly and helpful. However it is mid summer in the hottest period on record & they still have winter duvets on the beds. I do not understand why any business would push their customers to waste money on air con etc.
This situation is compounded by the fact currently the air conditioning doesn't work.
In the summer there should be the choice of separate bedsheets and a thin duvet as an option. Many people do not like air con even when it works.

The hotel staff at the reception gave us an extremely hard time while checking out. I have stayed in multiple hotels across the world and the hotel staff ensure to inform you about the check-out timings far in advance, or call you at the time of check-out. These guys just sent us a bill for the next day without a single bit of communication, we refused to pay it, but they still charged a fee for the occupancy of the room. We left the same day as we had a flight to catch, but this experience spoiled our vacation! I suggest everyone to call them out if they have had similar experiences with Holiday Inn Wandsworth. The Indian guys at the reception staff are extremely rude and unkind.
We had a lovely stay at Holiday Inn Express London Wandsworth and would happily return.
The customer service was excellent throughout. The reception, breakfast, and bar staff were all friendly, welcoming, and helpful. We were also pleasantly surprised to be upgraded to a king room, which made our stay even better.
We checked in quite late at around 11pm and were impressed by the hotel’s security. The entrance doors were locked and could only be accessed with a key card or by being buzzed in by reception, which gave us extra peace of mind.
The hotel was undergoing planned air conditioning maintenance, but this was clearly communicated before we booked, which we really appreciated. Although the air conditioning wasn’t operational during our stay, a fan was provided and, together with opening the windows, kept the room comfortable.
Breakfast was great, with vegetarian sausages available on request. We arrived towards the end of service after a late night, but the team still looked after us without making us feel rushed. After checking out, the hotel also kindly stored our luggage (big shout out to Barney) while we explored London, which was a lovely touch.
The only real drawbacks were the parking and the morning noise. Parking is operated by YourParkingSpace and, even with the hotel’s 25% discount, we still paid around £30 for roughly 18 hours, so it’s worth factoring into your budget.
From around 8-9am until we checked out at 11am, housekeeping were repeatedly slamming room doors quite loudly while servicing rooms. My partner and I are both heavy sleepers, but the constant slamming still managed to wake us up, even though some of the doors were several rooms away. I suppose it did work as an alarm and got us up in time for breakfast and to check out! 😅 That said, a little more care when closing the doors, or improved soundproofing, would make the stay even more comfortable.
Overall, we had a really enjoyable stay. The excellent customer service genuinely stood out and is what we’ll remember most. Thank you to the whole team- we’d be more than happy to stay again.
