We had a very pleasant stay here for seven nights. The location is excellent — it’s only a few minutes’ walk from the Underground station, and most of London’s main attractions are easily accessible by Tube. It was particularly convenient for us as a family travelling with a child.
The staff were very friendly and helpful throughout our stay. Special thanks to Darsh, Adhikari and Akshat, who were all very welcoming. During breakfast, the manager would also come over to say hello and ask how our child was enjoying the stay, which was a really nice touch.
The soundproofing was also excellent. Before arriving, we were slightly concerned that it might be noisy because there are quite a few bars nearby, but in fact we couldn’t hear any noise at all from our room.
The only thing that could perhaps be improved is the breakfast selection. It would be nice to have a little more variety from day to day. As we stayed for seven consecutive nights, it started to feel a little repetitive towards the end. That said, for a shorter stay, the breakfast is definitely worth trying and offers a good start to the day.
Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend this hotel, especially to families travelling with children.

The renovation looks reasonably nice, but unfortunately, a fresh coat of paint and a new voco name cannot compensate for an absolutely dreadful service experience.
What makes this even more disappointing is that I stayed here as an IHG Platinum Elite member. You would expect at least some recognition of loyalty and a basic level of flexibility and customer service. Instead, the staff were incredibly rigid, unhelpful and seemingly completely uninterested in finding solutions.
In fact, the overall experience was worse than what I have experienced at many Holiday Inn Express properties. That is quite an achievement, considering this hotel is supposed to be a step up from that brand.
Every interaction felt unnecessarily difficult. Rather than trying to accommodate guests or resolve issues, the attitude seemed to be: “Those are the rules, and that’s your problem.” There was very little flexibility, very little hospitality and virtually no sense that customer satisfaction mattered.
The irony is that the hotel has clearly invested money into making the property look better. The renovation is perfectly fine. But hospitality isn’t just about new furniture, stylish interiors and a different sign outside the building. It is about how you treat your guests.
As a Platinum Elite member, I have stayed at plenty of IHG properties, and this was easily one of the more disappointing experiences. If this is supposed to be an upgrade from Holiday Inn Express, the service certainly hasn’t received the memo.
Nice renovation. Poor hospitality. Extremely disappointing service. And, quite frankly, worse than many Holiday Inn Express hotels I’ve stayed at.
Very disappointing experience, especially with the hotel manager, Mr. Djamel.
On September 8, our flight from London to Chania was cancelled due to the UK air traffic control failure, and our replacement flight was cancelled as well. After an exhausting and traumatic day stranded between airports, I was travelling with my two-year-old son and desperately trying to find somewhere to stay.
At around 3 a.m., exhausted and under extreme stress, I accidentally booked this hotel for December instead of September 9. We arrived around 4 a.m., only an hour after making the booking, and immediately explained the mistake. Mr. Djamel told us that if Booking.com approved the refund, he would accept it. However, when I contacted Booking.com, they said the property had to approve it, which he refused to do.
After this horrible night, we had to find another hotel ourselves and pay again. Several days later, when I followed up with Booking.com, Mr. Djamel offered to change the reservation to a future date instead. When I explained that we are not planning to travel to London again, he still would not offer a refund.
We understand hotel policies, but this was an obvious and genuine mistake made at 3 a.m. under extraordinary circumstances, after multiple flight cancellations, while travelling with a two-year-old child. The manager knew exactly what we were going through, yet chose to keep our money without providing a room.
For us, this was not just a disappointing hotel experience, it was a complete lack of compassion when we genuinely needed help
