I stayed here for 3 nights recently, and, for the high price it was very disappointing. While the location is perfect, the rooms are old and the furniture dingy, the bed was very uncomfortable and there was a drilling sound that woke us up twice, plus when I asked the desk if they had a different type of pillow they literally laughed at me and said to use the cushion from the sofa (?), and later they called to say all pillows are the same. Breakfast was fine but I found it expensive for what it was. I would not stay there again.
First time I've gone down market here and just booked a Classic Double Room with breakfast included. When we arrived, I was told that breakfast wasn't included and that I would have to pay an extra £80, for the pleasure. The breakfast was very disappointing with hardly anything hot. Little effort being made really.
The room was also very tired and in desperate need of a little care and attention to detail.
My main gripe though is that having booked a deal including breakfast and despite my e-mailing and speaking on the telephone to a member of staff who confirmed that I had in fact booked breakfast, I was told to pay an extra £80 for poor food.
I just do not appreciate being lied to.
Thankfully there are other hotels in the vicinity that will get our custom next time.
Staff weren't as empathetic as they were on previous visits. It was like they had employed AI robots on reception who just kept repeating the same phrase!
Io e mio marito eravamo già stati in questo hotel diversi anni fa e piu volte.. Quest'anno ad aprile siamo ritornati.Ma amara sorpresa, probabilmente era cambiata la gestione, non ci siamo trovati assolutamente bene. Il problema principale è stato quello di non potersi fare la doccia per tutta la settimana della nostra permanenza, perché inspiegabilmente una volta insaponati (cambiati anche più volte i prodotti) non ci si poteva sciacquare. Il sapone rimaneva indosso e l'acqua non lo portava via. Abbiamo fatto presente il problema, ma non hanno dato alcun peso alle nostre lamentele. Oltre tutto il piano della vasca da bagno per questo problema risultava scivoloso. Abbiamo richiesto un tappetino antiscivolo e dopo due giorni c'è stato fornito uno striminzito rettangolo nero di plastica inguardabile (20x 30). L'addetto alla reception, ha sempre fatto finta di non capire. Ci dispiace di non poterci più tornare, per i disagi che abbiamo subito, anche se la posizione è ottima. Per concludere il climatizzatore era rumoroso e vecchio. Le finestre erano sigillate edi conseguenza non si poteva effettuare il ricambio dell'aria.

This was the perfect choice for our family trip to London. The location is incredible, with great proximity in terms of walkability to many attractions. The tube is across the street, which made getting anywhere so convenient. We were traveling with our 6 month old and the staff was so accommodating - we used the hotel crib, which was a pack and play.

We just had a wonderful stay at The Bailey's Hotel. We stayed in one of the superior king rooms on the top floor, and the size of the room exceeded expectations. We did not eat at the restaurant or use any of the other facilities, so I cannot comment on those, but the staff was very courteous and helpful and the hotel was overall quite clean. Our room was also very quiet - I think we had quiet neighbors, so I can't comment on wall thickness, but as far as outside noise, we were never bothered by any of the traffic noise, etc.
The location was excellent in a very nice part of the city in Kensington about a 20-second walk from the Gloucester Station for the underground. This connects you to the rest of the city so well, and getting around was very convenient. It is a little more than a half mile from Hyde Park, and even closer to the Natural History Museum, Albert&Victoria Museum and the Albert Hall. It is also right next to a great grocery store and several eating options.
My only deductions from a 5 star experience were that the carpets could use a replacement, as they are a bit worn and take away from the overall clean feeling, and our pillows could have used a replacement due to lumpiness. If we requested new pillows, I'm sure the hotel would have obliged, but we never got around to it.
Overall, I would absolutely stay there again and I would absolutely recommend it to others. This was our first stay in London, but I was very happy with the experience.
