Only fresh, seasonal ingredients are carefully chosen and cooked in the Italian inspired creations served in Olive’s Restaurant in South Kensington.
Many of our dishes use ingredients sourced from Italy so you can enjoy a long lunch with friends or a family gathering as if you’re there, even if only for a few hours. For instance, we source well-known Italian cheese such as Mozzarella direct from its birthplace in Campania and similarly our Burrata comes from Puglia. Sometimes we’ll source closer to home and use suppliers such as Natoora to make sure we use seasonal.

The hotel was very clean overall and the room was very clean and well maintained. The room I had was small but was very well appointed with everything you could need. Being situated right across the street from the underground station was very convenient and made getting to and from the airport easy. The staff were welcoming and friendly. Overall I was very pleased with the hotel and would return.

Very well kept hotel right across Gloucester Road Station. The rooms are very tidy and clean, housekeeping to the best standard. The public areas are extremely nicely furnished and decorated. Check-In and Check-Out are done swiftly and efficiently. Free WLAN working exceptionally fine.
Being right in the middle of Kensington this is a perfect place to explore the plenty of local restaurants and pubs. Also the Natural History, Science, and V&A Museums are just a couple of minutes to walk.
The prices are very reasonable considering the location and the quality of accomodation. The reservation team is very approachable and responsive via e-mail. We will certainly return.

The Bailey’s Hotel is well-located in Kensington across the street from the Gloucester tube station. The breakfast was very nice and the staff were friendly and helpful.
The bedroom was comfortable and the shower was nice. The bathroom window was boarded up, we think, to help with the extreme heat outside. We were there while temperatures were in the 90’s and the bedroom was hot. The staff gave us a fan the first night and a portable AC unit the next two nights. We were on the 5th floor.
We would stay here, again, for the location, but would make sure the AC was working if it’s mid summer.

The staff at the hotel, from the porters to the staff at breakfast, were very welcoming, helpful, and kind. In particular, Teigist and Eliza were very patient and kind with my elderly mom making sure she was comfortable and well taken care of whenever we came down for breakfast. The staff were definitely one of the highlights of our stay.
The rooms were also very clean and well appointed and the hotel is in a fantastic location.

We decided to check out of this hotel just 6 hours after arriving due to an unacceptable experience that borders on a scam. Traveling with a toddler, we paid a premium rate (nearly $500 USD per night) expecting services to match, but what we received was a logistical disaster and a complete lack of empathy.
Chronology of events:
We arrived early from a long trip and paid an extra fee for an early check-in. We were assigned Room 432. Upon entering, we noticed a desk fan sitting on the table. We soon understood why: the room had two sealed internal windows that could not be opened, and the air conditioning was completely broken.
From 12:00 PM to 7:00 PM, the room temperature never dropped below 26°C to 28°C (78°F - 82°F). It was actually hotter inside the room than out on the street due to the lack of ventilation. My one-and-a-half-year-old son was sweating in his cot, completely unable to sleep due to the suffocating heat.
I had to call front desk three times before anyone bothered to show up (2 hours with this suffocation). When the maintenance worker finally arrived, he used a baffling tactic: he brought a laser temperature gun, aimed it directly at the internal AC vent—which was naturally cold to the touch on the surface—and took a photo (and now what they have is a photo confirming for them that the AC seems to be working if you plan to make a complain), showing 22°C to claim "the system was working." However, the unit was blowing absolutely no airflow to cool down the actual room. His excuse was that the building's system "was overloaded due to the hot day" and told us to "wait until sunset" to see if it improved.
A commercial "solution" that they gave was, due to the lack of answers and our son's distress, my wife went down to complain. The only solution they offered was to move us to a larger room, but only if we paid the price difference. This was an absolute insult considering the failure was entirely on their end.
Realizing they had no genuine intention of fixing a basic habitability issue, I booked another hotel and we decided to leave immediately. When I walked down to the front desk with our luggage to announce our early checkout, the Duty Manager magically appeared (without even requesting him).
He attempted to retain us by offering another room at the very last minute. I made it clear to him that it was unacceptable to wait until they saw us with bags in hand to finally act reasonably. Although they politely agreed to waive the early check-in fee and return the deposit, they flatly refused to provide a paper checkout invoice or a written letter acknowledging that we were leaving under these poor conditions.
Looking at other reviews now, I see that these AC failures and evasive responses are a recurring pattern. Truly shameful management. Avoid this place at all costs, especially if you are traveling with family.
