From the moment we walked in we was greeted by excellent service, the concierge, reception and breakfast staff were all very attentive. We felt special and this made our stay very special as its the lil things that made the difference. We especially loved the welcome drink and we was upgraded to river view and later check out. Thank you so much, we will definitely back and tell our family & friends!

This hotel does not justify being a 5 star. We stayed in a suite which was in dire need of modernisation. The wardrobe doors didn't shut so the internal lights stayed on all night, the carpet is past it's best and the wallpaper is even trying to leave the premises. View was lovely as was the bed and bathroom. We were told room service was 24 hours by staff (it also shows as 24 hours on the menu) but when calling just after 11 we were told kitchen's closed. The pool/spa is not attached to the building which isn't a major issue but it is very busy as it serves the hotel and general public. Certainly not relaxing when the steam room, sauna and hydro pool is full to bursting. If you're after a 5 star hotel this isn't the one to be going for.

This is by far the worst 5* hotel I've ever stayed in. The service from the moment my wife and I arrived at the property was beyond poor. When we checked in, the receptionist got our room wrong, not a big issue but still. The air-conditioning didn't work in our room, I informed reception numerous times that it wasn't working, they kept telling me a engineer 'is on his way'... he never arrived. I asked for some ice to help cool us down in our room as it was baking hot, 1 hour later a small bottle of warm water arrived. THIS IS WHEN THINGS STARTED GETTING WORSE. At 5pm on 11th July 2026 the fire alarm went off, everyone obviously had to evacuate the hotel. 30 minutes later we were allowed back in after the fire department had checked the hotel and found an alarm was faulty in a room on the 4th floor (i only know this as i asked a fireman, the hotel staff told us nothing). My wife and I then went out for the evening. We arrived back at midnight. Between that time and 3:15am the fire alarm went off another SEVEN TIMES. Due to the same fault. The hotel did nothing in that time, or beforehand to resolve the issue other than keep evacuating the hotel over and over again at the fire departments request. No alarm technician was called. I complained over and over again, even the fire department staff were laughing at what a joke the hotel set up was, and the manager that night informed me I'd get a full refund, I confirmed this the next morning (I finally got to sleep at 4:30am) with the reception and he said yes, took my number and details. I'VE STILL NOT BEEN REFUNDED AFTER CALLING NUMEROUS TIMES and speaking to numerous staff members. This is by far the worst hotel experience I've ever had. The hotel Spa is actually a Virgin Active so not exclusive and the breakfast is a buffet, well that's what we were told so had the buffet (was ok), yet we noticed after we'd eaten that some guests were given menu's and ordering eggs benedict etc. The service is awful. AVOID!!

I've been making every effort to resolve this matter privately, but now I've been left with no choice. I stayed at Canary Riverside Plaza Hotel on 11-12 July 2026. Between approximately 1am and 3am, the fire alarm repeatedly went off due to what we were later informed was a system error, resulting in multiple evacuations of the entire hotel throughout the night. This was an incredibly distressing experience. Every time we were allowed back into our room, we were unable to properly relax or sleep because we were constantly anticipating the alarm sounding again. Upon check-out, the receptionist apologised and confirmed that the hotel would be refunding all guests who stayed on the affected night. He also confirmed that my full security deposit would be refunded as a gesture of goodwill. On 16 July, I emailed the hotel to follow up on this. On 20 July, I received a response stating that the refund had been processed on 15 July - but I was invited to email back again if the refund hadn't reached me by the end of the week for the team to investigate. As I hadn't received it by the end of the week, I emailed again on 27 July requesting that the matter be investigated. To date (29 July), I have received no acknowledgement, no update and no explanation. What I find most disappointing is not only the disruption caused during the stay, but the way this has been handled afterwards. I genuinely didn't want to leave a public review. I deliberately chose to deal with this privately first and gave the hotel every opportunity to resolve the matter directly. However, after weeks of chasing, I've been left with no meaningful communication and an outstanding refund. I hope this review prompts the management team to investigate this matter properly, honour the commitments that were made at check-out, and contact me as soon as possible to bring this issue to a resolution.
