  The location is great (a short walk from T4), the staff are friendly and the breakfast is good however the whole point of a hotel is to sleep hence all the aforementioned falls into insignificance. The rooms in this hotel have zero soundproofing between the rooms next door meaning you can literally hear every conversation, cough, sniff, toilet flush, bed bouncing and mobile telephone call that your next door neighbour is making/doing.

  Our rooms were clean, but later than our check in time. Welcome staff were very kind and even provided free bar drink vouchers to us due to the inconvenience which we appreciated. Upon returning to the hotel later that evening bar staff were very rude and unhelpful to us. The free drink vouchers only worked for shots of house liquor which is NOT listed on the voucher itself. The bartender on staff treated us like we were taking advantage, and not at all like we were paying customers who have had a very long day. We liked rooms, but staff are not very welcoming at the bar.

  The hotel is relatively clean and is within the airport if you need quick access, especially to terminal 4 and the London tube. However those are only the positives. The check in staff are not very welcoming and seem to be occupied within their own conversations. I came early to the hotel and just wanted to leave my bags so I could go on a tour and the check in staff insisted that I wait for a room that would only take 40 minutes maximum. I told her that it was not necessary that I knew I was early but she insisted. I waited patiently for over 40 minutes to where I was sitting for nearly an hour. I politely told her that when I arrived I just wanted to leave my bags but she insisted I wait. She then suddenly had a room available for me but asked that I make a full payment for the room. I suspect because they are at the airport they do not like to hold luggage for their guests. The room itself is small. There are no extra like fridges, microwave or safe to put personal belongings. The walls in the rooms are thin so you will hear your neighbours if they are loud or playing their televisions loud as was my case. Also, the bathroom is quite small. Most importantly the bed is very uncomfortable and the pillows are very hard. I didn’t bother complaining as I had three big bags and I could not move to another room so easily. If you are on a quick overlay perhaps this is your place but I would not recommend for more than that.

  The check-in to the hotel was simple and the wait wasn't very long. As we were were waiting in the drop off area Weldroy politely asked if we needed help with our luggage and then kindly assisted us by taking all of our luggage and helped us to our room. He even later on came and gave us a fun activity pack for our child! Our room looks clean and cozy. The spare bed is also a good size. Also the room is pretty quiet despite lots of people in reception area.

  Disappointing Staff Conduct, Double Standards, and Hygiene FailuresStay Date: June 30, 2026 – July 15, 2026 ROOM - 595 Origin: South AfricaI recently stayed at the Holiday Inn Express Heathrow T4 for two weeks. While the room and housekeeping services were perfectly fine, my overall experience was completely ruined by inconsistent hotel policies, poor communication, and blatant hygiene failures at the breakfast buffet.As a traveler from South Africa, eating out in Pounds is exceptionally expensive. More importantly, I manage a medical eating disorder where I lose weight rapidly if food puts me off. To manage my health, I had to order outside food deliveries daily to ensure I could actually eat.When I asked the staff to simply reheat some of my leftover food, they refused. They claimed they only reheat food for airline employees. When I then requested room service, they refused that too, again stating it was only for airline workers—despite me witnessing regular guests in the room next to me getting food delivered to their doors by staff.I called reception and spoke to a manager. They explained that they could not warm outside food due to "contamination risks." While I understood the food safety policy, the hotel completely contradicted this standard the very next morning. At the free breakfast buffet, I witnessed multiple guests picking up food with their bare hands while staff stood by and allowed it. It makes no sense to refuse to heat my food over "contamination" fears while actively serving contaminated food to guests at the buffet.Furthermore, the hospitality and management staff showed zero empathy or flexibility regarding a documented health condition. I spoke to two different managers and explicitly requested that this "airline-only" and "contamination" policy be emailed to me in writing. To this day, I have never received it.If you are dealing with a health condition or expect consistent, hygienic, and fair treatment, be aware that this hotel enforces policies selectively and fails to follow through on management promises.
